Description

Stunning beachfront villa located on a peaceful sandy beach, in a typical fisherman's village, boasting amazing ocean views. This charming villa has been renovated in 2021, features bright, open spaces, and is perfect for a family with children or a group of friends. If you are looking to experience the authentic Mauritian lifestyle, whilst enjoying the comfort and flexibility of a fully equipped private home, this villa is ideal for you. The space This delightful villa boasts a spacious covered terrace overlooking a long tropical garden from where you can enjoy the spectacular views over the lagoon and the northern islands (Gunner’s Quoin & Flat Island). It also offers you the perfect place to spend a quiet evening while taking in the breathtaking sunsets, or to enjoy a delicious meal. With a lovely pool & barbecue to cook up a feast under the stars, this bungalow has everything that you need for a perfect beach holiday. For your children's safety, we have very recently installed a glass pool balustrade on the terrace for the pool access. It is frameless and doesn't block the view.
In the living space you will find a comfortably sized TV lounge, an open breakfast/dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with a built-in oven, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. You will also have access to cable TV and high-speed internet. For sleeping, you will have 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, with the master bedroom featuring an en suite bathroom. There are also two additional bathrooms.
Directly in front of the villa you have the lovely turquoise lagoon with a small natural “pool” protected by rocks, where parents can happily swim with their small children, as the water level is not too deep. There is also the larger, deeper lagoon to the right of the villa.

Our wonderful helper Vina, who services the bungalow daily (except for Sundays and public holidays), will be happy to help you whenever and to cater to your needs. She would also be delighted to cook for you and to make you discover our tasty local dishes (ingredients will need to be provided by you). The garden is taken care of by Jean Michel and there is also someone who takes care of the pool once a week.

This villa, which has a special place in my heart, was where my mum used to spend her holidays as a child and is where her family later decided to permanently settle. I, myself, grew up in this house. Over the years the villa has been slowly refurnished by my parents, and so I would be delighted to welcome you to this newly renovated version of my previous home. Most of my mum's sisters and brothers still live in the neighbouring bungalows, and so you may bump into them during your stay. They are all very friendly and welcoming and would be more than happy to give you any recommendations or assistance if needed.

I also welcome guests to the "Quaint Beach Bungalow in a fishing village", which is my aunt's 1-bedroom bungalow right next door. The two houses used to be one big house, but were later separated. ***TOURIST FEE: Please note that from October 1, 2025, a new Tourist Fee of €3 per adult (12 years and above) per night will apply, as required by the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA). This fee is in addition to your accommodation charges and must be collected by all local accommodation providers on behalf of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA)- it will be collected at check-in in cash (EUR or MUR), and an official receipt will be provided. We appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation as we work to integrate this into our booking system. *** Guest access Guest access the whole villa during their stay. Parking is available in the garden at the entrance. It has a long private garden with direct access to the beach and the sea. Other things to note Renting a car is recommended so that you may visit the island or for daily needs like grocery shopping. Grand-Gaube is an authentic fishing village in the North of Mauritius. It is the perfect place for those wishing to be away from the touristy, but crowded village of Grand-Baie and being only 15-20 minutes by car from it. The capital, Port-Louis, is a 45 minute drive from the bungalow (avoiding peak hours ).
