Description

Step out into winding village lanes from sunny corner cottage and onto coastal paths by the harbour, then return to a warm, characterful retreat made for slow coastal stays. Two comfortable double bedrooms, a peaceful village setting and a walk-everywhere location make it an easy, relaxed escape. Ideal for couples, walkers and guests who enjoy Port Isaac at its most atmospheric. Good WiFi - for remote working or relaxing The space In the heart of atmospheric Port Isaac (home of Doc Martin and Fisherman’s Friends), this 17th-century Grade II listed cottage sits just minutes from the harbour. At sunny corner cottage, we’ve carefully preserved its historic character and made it lovely and comfortable, while keeping the cottage intentionally rustic and full of old-world charm. This is not a contemporary house, but a warm, peaceful retreat for guests who appreciate history, atmosphere and location. Calm and quiet, it’s lovely in summer and especially atmospheric in winter — think woolly socks, big jumpers and unhurried evenings after coastal walks. We find it deeply romantic and it’s a place we love. The beds will be made up for you in hotel quality white linens, and soft white bathroom towels are provided. Dogs are very welcome, with wonderful walks and winding village lanes, straight from the door. sunnycornercottage is the perfect place for a restful, charming and romantic stay at any time. Winter is when Port Isaac slows down and feels magical — quiet lanes, moody coastal light and peaceful walks. It’s an ideal time for couples and dogs who enjoy the coast without the crowds. Guest access At sunny corner cottage, you will have the whole gorgeous little cottage to yourselves, including the pretty outside terrace garden with rustic metal table and chairs for sitting out Other things to note There are open wooden stairs in the property, and slate steps to access the cottage from the top path. Sunny Corner cottage itself is on an uneven cobble stone path. You can get a car within a short distance to unload but not outside the cottage as it is nestled in the ancient part of the village. For this reason I do not recommend the cottage as suitable for anyone infirm or with limited mobility. We are in the beautiful heart of the village, parking is in one of the car parks at the top of the village and you can get closer (a minute or twos walk away) to unload.
