Our 1930’s cottage is a rare getaway. Surrounded by flower gardens, including a rose garden fully blooming in June & July. Sunny, open living & dining rooms provide space to enjoy timeless days. Jewel-box sunporch is perfect for reading & napping. 2 upstairs bdrms; study/tv room converts to 3rd bdrm (queen sofa bed). Deck is great for outdoor dining. Enjoy island breezes w/windows open; use AC for warmer days. Outdoor shower. Workshop/garden house is a fun place to relax & enjoy the garden. The space When you're here, you are in a world apart. If you love flowers, charming, eclectic decor, and indoor/outdoor spaces, our home will work some magic for you. You can walk, bike or drive to many uncrowded beaches in minutes. Pass the days sitting on the deck or in the rose garden, or find a nook in the house to read and rest. The renovated kitchen is ready and fully equipped for festive feasting. The renovated downstairs bathroom includes the original porcelain tub and is dreamy for bath lovers. The rustic outbuilding "the Cantina" is great fun for hanging out closer to the garden. The outdoor shower is another piece of wonderful indoor/outdoor living. Shelter Island is peaceful and laid back. For more action, it's an easy, short trip to Greenport, Sag Harbor and the Hamptons. Guest access Guests may use all parts of the house and grounds, excepting the storage area in the basement. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE: We wish to share the charm of our house with visitors, leaving art objects as they are, for guests to enjoy. We love families, but the house is NOT SUITABLE nor recommended or appropriate for children under 14 (excepting "babes in arms") as it is not child-proofed (i.e. many reachable items - including glass paneled doors, slightly steep stairs to the 2nd floor, glass and ceramic art, sharp corners on table, etc). Although you are most welcome to entertain guests in the house, this is not a party house. If you are looking for a place to host parties, our place is not appropriate for you. Very well-trained dogs are welcome, but they must be kept out of flowerbeds and off the furniture. Please tell us a bit about yourself. Thank you!
