Description
Room on one level overlooking the vegetable garden. Optional breakfast. Two single beds, linens and towels included. Beautiful garden. Very quiet neighborhood. Nearby: Lille or Tourcoing tram (15-min walk), Centre du Hautmont 4-min walk, A22 highway. Lille is 20 minutes by car and 40 minutes by tram. To see in the surroundings: Lille, Roubaix (Swimming Pool Museum), Croix, (Villa Cavrois)... And 5 km away, Belgium: Ypres (30 min), Brugges (50 min), Ghent (50 min), Brussels (1 hr 30 min)... The space My accommodation is highly appreciated for its calm and garden. I provide a private parking space and my garage for the safety of bicycles and luggage. Possibility to drop off your luggage or pick it up at any time. Guest access Common areas, bathrooms, terrace and deckchairs in a very nice wooded garden. During your stay Only if they wish, but I will be happy to advise you on places to visit in Lille and the surrounding area (Belgium included). Feel free to ask any questions before booking, I'll answer them very quickly. Other things to note If you come by car, you can park in front of my garage. If you have bicycles or motorcycles, they can be safely stored in my garage. Love the sea? Head to the Belgian or French coast. An hour's drive will be enough to discover our beautiful sandy beaches. You can eat a good mussels-fries followed by an ice cream or a Liège waffle (just to gain 3 kilos during the stay). Take the opportunity to make a stop in Ypres, halfway between Mouvaux and the Belgian coast, a typical Flemish city, rich in its architecture and sad history (completely destroyed in 1917 and rebuilt identically). A memorial (the Menen-Gate) was erected in tribute to the tens of thousands of Commonwealth soldiers killed in the Battle of Ypres. A little further (1.5 hours from my home and 30 minutes from Dunkirk), don't miss the splendid site of Deux-Caps (Cap Gris-Nez and Cap Blanc-Nez). Weather permitting, you will see the English cliffs of Dover. This is my favorite part of the area! The Lewarde site, about 50 minutes by car, will allow you to discover the working conditions of coal miners. The site has reconstructed a mine and shows us the evolution of the material and equipment of the coal miners. It's very interesting but the guided tour is only in French. Also worth seeing: the Louvre-Lens Museum where you can travel through time while admiring magnificent works of art on loan from the Louvre Museum. And so many other things that I would be happy to recommend, such as the Roubaix Swimming Pool Museum and Villa Cavrois, just 4 km from my home.
