The Pink Cottage

Built in 1851, this cottage has plenty of charm mixed with modern touches (including central heating). All the main rooms have windows on both sides, giving plenty of natural light and a view of a 13th century church that is gently illuminated at night. There are comfortable recliner sofas to relax on in front of a roaring fire. The views of the church can also be taken in from the super king size bed upstairs. The fully appointed kitchen includes dishwasher and laundry facilities. Guest access BEDROOM The master bedroom will be completely emptied of my effects, ready for you to enjoy. There is a super king size bed, with feather pillows and duvet (or the option for these to be removed to make space for your own bedding), and high thread count cotton sheets. The bedroom has a window on each side of the bed, both with very pretty views. Venetian blinds are fitted for controllable shade and privacy, and blackout velvet blinds for when you want to get some serious shut eye. FRIDGE / FREEZER You will be able to use the top drawer of the freezer, where you will also find an auto-fillng ice bucket. The fridge, which will be empty apart from a couple of essentials and treats for you to enjoy, also dispenses chilled filtered water. LAUNDRY The washing machine is available for you to use as much as you need, and it auto-doses detergent. To dry, you have a choice of a separate dryer and heated airer. Other things to note This is my home, and I share it with my daughter and a cat. None of us will be here when you are staying, and the house will be thoroughly cleaned for you, but if you are highly allergic to cats, I cannot guarantee your allergy won't be triggered. Also, my daughter's room, my office and the second upstairs toilet will be locked during your stay. My cleaner will be able to access these rooms in an emergency. The house is right next door to a beautiful church. The clock chimes a simple charm on the hour, and on Friday evening bell ringers practice for the main event, which is at around 10am on a Sunday morning. Most of North Cambridge and the surrounding villages can hear the tyres on tarmac noise of the A14. This is a gentle sound but it is noticeable. The cottage is right on the high street of a quiet village. A bus goes past once every hour until early evening (this bus will take you to the centre of Cambridge). On term time weekdays, the high street does get busy for a brief period at school run times.
