'Library Barn' is a beautiful building that has been thoughtfully-designed & beautifully-furnished. It is located at 42 Acres - a regenerative farm, nature reserve & wellbeing retreat centre. We are situated in rural Somerset between Frome & Bruton and we run on 100% renewable energy. Explore our 173 acres of wild spaces including ancient woodland; rewilded meadows; edible hedges; a lake suitable for wild swimming & an abundance of wildlife. It's the perfect place to reconnect with nature. The space Library Barn has beautiful bones - having been sympathetically designed with wonderful features and eclectic details to surprise and delight. The upstairs bedroom features a glass balustrade over the living space and a Juliette balcony to the outside. It has it's own shower room on the ground floor. The downstairs bedroom is accessible. It is possible to drive almost up to the door. (Please get in touch, if you'd like to discuss accessibility needs). It has an ensuite bath/shower room and opens both to the living space and to the outdoors. The main living space is sociably open-plan. It features a fully-equipped kitchen, large dining table, and a lounge with 3 super-soft sofas, a real fire* and a large projector screen. Please feel free to lounge on one of the comfy sofas with a roaring fire to one side of you, and your favourite movie playing on the big screen to the other side! There are 6 separate spaces available on our 173 acres of land. Please take a look at our other listings or get in touch for more details. Please ask for our pet policy in advance so that we can accommodate. *We will supply wood that is sustainably-sourced by coppicing on our land. Guest access Our vision is to live in harmony with self, nature and others. As well as your private space, we invite you to explore our regenerative estate that is home to millions of lives. We nurture the land not only for ourselves but for the other living beings we share it with. Over the past few years, we have seen the return of a number of once-thought extinct species, including beavers, wild boar and pine martens. We are home to an organically-farmed market garden; sacred bee garden; micro woodland mushroom farm; edimental walled garden; forest kitchen; edible hedges and more. Please feel at home and free to explore all our beautiful land. We also offer a wide range of wellbeing and nature-based experiences, retreats and workshops. Please check what's coming up on our site if you'd like to time your visit to coincide. If you would like to add a private 42 Acres-hosted experience to your stay, please get in touch in advance. Experiences range (depending on the time of year & availability) from guided beaver walks to mushroom inoculation workshops, from a woodfired sauna to foraging experiences. These will not be available to book on arrival, so please do ask in advance. Other things to note Our Guest Experience: We will leave you to connect with nature and not disturb you, unless you ask. Care for our Spaces: Our incredible team take great care to nurture each of our spaces so that they are clean, comfortable and welcoming. Check in/out: Check in is after 4pm, please get in touch with us if you plan to arrive after 6pm or would like to arrive early. Please vacate your room by 10am. If you'd like to spend more time onsite or in the area you can leave your luggage in a designated area in the communal space. Facilities: There is no restaurant or shop on site. The nearest food outlet is 15 minutes' drive away so please make sure you bring supplies with you. (We can cater for groups of 12 or more from our "Soil-to-Gut" menu but this must be arranged in advance). Pet policy: We love four-legged friends and welcome two well-behaved dogs. We ask that you keep your dog/s off all furniture and outside of bedrooms. Please clean muddy paws before entering any buildings using your own towels. Please dispose of dog mess we charge £50 for any left fouling. We are surrounded by farms and wildlife, including rare species, so please keep your dog/s on a lead. Please keep your dog/s out of the Market Garden, Micro Mushroom Farm and especially the Sacred Bee Garden. If upon check out the property requires additional cleaning a pet charge of £100 will be applied. If you are bringing your dog please let us know in the notes of your booking.
