Cozy up by the fireplace in this unique and tranquil space, and enjoy the view! Set on East Moore Lake, the Bunkie is a small (650 sqft) but cozy space to enjoy a relaxing weekend getaway. It sits on a private property with over 500ft of lakefront, and access to many outdoor activities...all within 2 hours from Toronto! The space The Bunkie is one of two buildings on the property, which is set beautifully overlooking East Moore Lake. The main building is closed for the winter; however the deck is available for use year round. There are also stairs down to the lake (not cleared during winter, use at own risk), which is a great place for fishing! Enjoy the serene winter landscape, with outdoor activities like shoe-shoeing and hiking. The Sunroom features a gas stove fireplace, perfect for cozying up to read a book or catch up on some Netflix. WIFI is available (can be spotty - we are up North after all :) The space has a kitchenette, featuring a full fridge, a toaster oven, a hot plate, a microwave, and a kettle*. You also have access to the outdoor BBQ, which is located outside of the main building. Basic kitchen utensils and linens are available for use. *PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO OVEN OR FULL STOVE TOP. Guest access Guests have full access to the Bunkie and the surrounding outdoor property. The main building is closed during the winter, however guests can still enjoy the beautiful view from the deck. During winter months, the driveway is cleared by a professional service; however please be aware the stairs and path to the main entrance may need to be cleared off by guests. Other things to note ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA: - snowshoes and poles available for use during your stay. - many hiking and cross-country skiing trails in the haliburton area (cross country skis not provided) - explore restaurants and local breweries in the surrounding towns *The lake does freeze over in the winter however guests are advised that they can use at their own risk.
