Built in 1791 as a working Watermill our cottage is uniquely located on the Ballylinney River, just off the Larne Line route to the Giants Causeway. It has many original features such a vaulted ceiling, oak beams, thick solid stone walls, and original stone waterwheel well. Few cottages offer such unique features as their own little bridge which leads to the front door, a private rivers edge garden, sound of the river flowing past your windows, and olde world charm combines with modern luxuries The space Our quirky, unique 18th Century cottage was originally a working Watermill dating back to 1791, its a beautiful location Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. Sit back, relax and listen to the river run right past your window, and enjoy the regular sightings of the local wildlife visitors, Robins, Herons, Ducks, Otters, Kingfishers, Squirrels, Rabbits, Hedgehogs, and lots of other little water birds. You can enjoy the tranquil sound of the river from all rooms of the cottage. We now also have a stunning rivers edge Scandanavian Wood Fired Hot Tub, which can be booked as an extra for £60 for the first day (or singular days), and £25 for each consecutive day. located under a pergola, magical fairy lights and beautiful gravel Seating area. we look after the hot tub so all you need to do is relax and enjoy. Access to the front door of our cottage is via a little fairytale bridge which spans what used to be the Waterwheel Well. Our cottage comprises of The Bedstone Double Bedroom (ground floor with en-suite access to the main bathroom), The Hopper Bedroom (1st floor) with a Double Bed & Single Bed, The Crownwheel Bathroom (ground floor), The Linney Sitting Room & The Millrace Kitchen Diner. Enjoy exclusive use of our Lower Riverside Garden Seating area, right at the rivers edge, under the old Appletree and Maple Tree. Its even a Wooden Bench, Tables & Chairs and a Gas BBQ. Our cottage offers a well appointed kitchen, with Washing Machine, Fridge Freezer, 4 Ring Ceramic Hob, Fan Oven, Microwave Oven, Kettle, Toaster, Nespresso Coffee Machine, & Dishwasher. The Bathroom features a combined Bath & Shower and Fluffy Comfy Dressing Gowns. Hairdryers in both bedrooms. Wifi, Smart TV and so much more. Although Self Catering, we also offer the option to include Breakfast, Packed Lunch Bags (for your exploring trips), BBQ Packs, Fondue Party Pack, Finger Food, inc Vegan Options. There is ample parking, and exclusive use of the Riverside Seating Area conveniently located, 15 Minutes from Belfast, 15 minutes from Belfast International Airport, 7 Minutes to Carrickfergus, and perfectly located off the Larne Line as the perfect gateway to Explore Antrim, The Antrim Coast, Giants Causeway, and quick access to the Motorway to all areas of Northern Ireland. Guest access We are located just off the Larne Line, which is the Gateway to the Antrim Coast, heading to The Giants Causeway. We offer plenty of on site private parking. Other things to note Due to the very close proximity to a river, guests should take consideration for their own safety, that of children or other members of their party to ensure supervision and care at all times as with any body of water. The river varies between a few inches to a couple of feet deep weather depending. The private Lower River Garden is quite close to the river level, and accessed by steps.
