This unique place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. It is directly across the street from the park. A short walk or drive to the downtown activities and restaurants and other services in every direction. Also direct highway and turnpike access within a mile. The house is a traditional 1950s style home with very unique mid century and other eclectic furnishings. Every room has its own special features as well as a private library. The space as you probably saw in the pictures was put together to generate warmth and comfort during your stay. The common theme in each room is a country or Forrest like feeling with the added warmth of new and old books of all subjects to include the classics. The rooms are topped off with a mid century feel with a dedicated old fashioned library and work space available for your use. The main road (Harrah Newalla Road) Runs by the house which takes you to Interstate 40 if you travel south or the Kickapoo Kickapoo Turnpike. Both will take you east take the turnpike to go to Tulsa) or West towards Oklahoma City. This Book Haven is a traditional 1950s neighborhood with long time residents. There are mature trees throughout the neighborhood and it is very close to downtown activities. The Book Haven is also directly across the street from the Harrah Park which has its own regularly scheduled events. Note: There is a dog next door that likes to bark. It’s a friendly dog that wants something thrown so he can chase it. The neighborhood is very easy to get around in your car and is also very pedestrian friendly. Enjoy a nice walk and enjoy all the mature trees during your stay. Their are two relatively new restaurants in town that have already become icons. The Black Raven which offers great food and a pub like environment in a historic landmark and the Lumber Shack which offers its own blend of great food and the unique experience of dining in a former lumber yard. Both of these are located in downtown Harrah just blocks away from the Book Haven.
