Very peaceful getaway in the heart of Amish farmlands! Sit by the fire.Listen to birds, farm noises, and more clip-clop sounds of horses and buggy wheels than cars! Hike the “Money Rocks” two miles away. America’s largest smorgasbord with Dutch cooking is six miles away.Maple Grove Speedway, Sight and Sound Theater, Kitchen Kettle… a few “Must See”at your back door! Tour quietly on our bikes. Two 700watt Ebikes available for the more relaxed adventurer! Fitness, yard games, and deck too! The space Nice getaway in the middle of Amish farmlands. This is a peaceful retreat in the Amish countryside. One unique thing is that this is not a tourist area so the Amish here are more being who they are instead of entertaining. There are numerous things to do within a very short driving distance in any direction. Everyone who has stayed has commented on how peaceful it is! Guest access The front and side yards are yours, as well as the house. There is a pavilion with tables and chairs, a fire ring, and a grill for your convenience. The back porch is yours to enjoy…it is not totally sealed so you may encounter mosquitoes or bugs there. The basement has no inside entrance to/from your space and is off limits. Other things to note Here are a few things you may want to keep in mind; It is very poor etiquette to photograph the Amish, especially head on. Some have strong convictions against it. We recommend going to the Shady Maple complex, Bird in Hand, or Paradise for photography since these are tourist areas and it is expected. At least try to be subtle... Use the back porch at your discretion...it is under construction but there are light fitness, games, extra tables and chairs, as well as a large trash can for your garbage. The basement and under the porch is off limits. Should you decide to purchase anything we have for sale, please leave the money on the desk. The prices you see are our cost and we just have them there for your convenience . The exception is the tea ring or cookies on the table and snacks. They are complimentary! The green wash stand has fliers with various things to do while you are here. Some of the more noteworthy are September Farms (Cheese Factory), Shady Maple Complex ( Largest buffet in America, baked goods, produce...), The Fireside Cafe, and the little Amish store on Rt 10. Oh, and don’t miss Sight and Sound!
