Sauna cottage by the sea - live the spirit of Tove

Welcome to the heart of Finnish happiness: clean nature, fresh air and silence, not forgetting the sauna. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The cottage is located in the yard of my house. The windows overlook the sea and the beach, from where you can paddle or paddleboard to the archipelago and the Porvoo river. The beach is shallow. The nearby clean-water pond is best suited for swimming. The area is a nature reserve and suitable for those who like to connect with nature. The space The cottage is a traditional wooden sauna cottage, with one side being a sauna and the other a bedroom. Water for the sauna comes from the main house and is heated in a pot. In summer, the kitchen is on the terrace, where there is a small refrigerator, a kettle, a hot plate, a dishwashing station and a charcoal grill. Drinking water is brought in a tank from the main house. The room has a 160 cm wide comfortable bed, electric heater and blackout curtains. The price includes sheets and towels. The sauna is heated with wood. The shower in the basement of the main house is for the private use of guests. The toilet is located about 20 meters from the cottage and is a composting outhouse. Other environment Kråkö Island is a living village community where about 300 people live permanently. In the past, there have been a lot of boat builders on the island, of which there are still old buildings. The island has forests, fields and farms. The road runs along the coast and is a popular cycling route. A cottage guest can borrow a bicycle and ride around the island. You can cycle to the nearby beach, which is one of the best in Porvoo, in about ten minutes. Kråkö Island also has a brewery and a brewery restaurant. Yoga classes are held in the yard during the summer. Near Kråkön, there is a great archipelago landscape and beautiful small roads, along which you can explore old traditional landscapes. Sondby's sandy beaches are about 14 km away. The Pellinge archipelago, where Tove Jansson's summer place is also located, is about 19 km away. The center of Porvoo and the old town are 15 km away. By boat or kayak, you can explore the birds in the nearby area or visit the village of Hamar across the shore. Haikkoo Manor is also a short boat ride away. Guest access The large yard of the cottage and the beach with its docks are at the guest's disposal. The yard has a barbecue, dining area and sun loungers. The beach is about 30 m from the cottage. The dock is also used by the residents of the house and other renters of SUP boards and kayaks. For cottage renters, the rent for a SUP board or kayak is 10 €/hour. Guests can also bring their own board or kayak. The water area opening from the beach is unique. Right next to it are the historic Sahasaaret, where there is interesting paddling. The water is very shallow and there are hardly any boats. The area is also safe for beginners to practice paddling. You can reach the center of Porvoo along the river (distance approx. 6km). Other things to note The shops are located in the center of Porvoo, so shopping should be done before arriving at the cottage. From 1.6. to 7.8. there are no buses to the island. At other times, the bus runs only on weekdays, not on Saturdays or Sundays.
