Description

A cosy wagon and a hot tub in a giant wine barrel! Nestled in the Hampshire countryside. Features inside include a double bed, trap-door bath, toilet, and large ‘wagon wheel’ window with stunning views. Outdoors is the Wild Cherry Barn with chiminea fireplace and a saloon seating area with pizza oven and campfire with BBQ grill. The Wagon in the Woods is a bespoke, self-contained little place in the country with a private woodland, ideal for those wanting a tranquil and restful getaway. The space The huge cartwheel wagon window floods the space with light. The bath is revealed by lifting a trap door in the floor at the base of the window...you can relax in a bath and watch the curious cows wander by and hares leaping across the fields. You have the seclusion of being on the edge of a woodland and feeling like you are a million miles from home, but have the luxuries of an internal flushing toilet, hot water, bath, cooker, fridge and other amenities. We provide free milk, Wagon Wheels, marshmallows, kindling, and wood for the firepit and the pizza oven as well as tea, coffee, herbal teas, hot chocolate, and a few breakfast cereals. The Wine Barrel Hot Tub is right next to the wagon, underneath a Wild Cherry Tree Barn to provide shelter from the elements. The hot tub heats up very quickly and runs all year round. Chiminea fire in the barn adds some atmosphere whilst enjoying a drink at the bar seating area. The outdoor saloon seating area (complete with pizza oven) was built to give you somewhere to sit and feel like you are outdoors but at the same time shelter from our unpredictable English weather! Enjoy a hot choc, glass of wine, freshly-fired pizza, or barbecued dinner in the dry. Guest access It's all yours! The Wagon was designed and built by myself and my wife Lucy for fun and to provide a place to be in nature and relax. It is a unique space. We hope you come to love it as much as we do. We want you to have a lovely and enjoyable stay. The Wagon is found by wandering down the hard-standing path towards the woodland. It resides in its own private, secluded grounds and the small woodland is yours to enjoy. We often hear owls at night and see wildlife in the day — please respect that this is also their habitat too. Please also respect the privacy of other guests on site and the people who live at the property. Other things to note We launched Wagon in the Woods to the public in Nov 2015. It all began with a family get-together and the realisation that everyone was not going to fit in the house! We needed an extra room. The idea of a shepherd's hut came up, but we decided we wanted something lighter and more spacious. The idea of the Western-style wagon was appealing because of its shape and space potential. So we got to work! Many years ago we were hit by some very high winds, which brought down a Giant Sequoia onto the old chicken run. This was planked up using a chainsaw mill and now forms the table, kitchen area and basin stand. The tree running along the roof started life as a Christmas tree that was planted in the garden when we were kids.
