Description

Eagle's Nest Treehouse Farm Stay is a tranquil, secluded, luxurious, romantic wilderness experience in a private forest on a 400 acre working ranch. Thirty feet above the forest floor you are nestled in a gorgeous, well-appointed suite of 1,000 year old polished redwood, with bathroom and amazing copper/glass forest-view shower. Explore hiking trails through the forest and learn about ranch operations (Highland cattle, goats and ducks). See guest comments in the space description. The space The Eagle's Nest treehouse is located at Salmon Creek Ranch, a 400 acre working ranch near the spectacular Sonoma County coast. It is in the middle of our pristine private forest (redwood, fir, bay laurel, etc) that takes up half the ranch -- the other half being devoted to livestock production. The location feels very remote yet is only an hour or so from the Golden Gate Bridge. Far enough away from the City that you can see all the stars, but visit San Francisco during the day if you want to. Originally built in 1990's then rebuilt and booked solid on Airbnb in 2016 at the same price with rave reviews, now reopened after a 5 year, six figure effort to legalize it (have you ever tried to get a permit for a treehouse?). TYPICAL GUEST COMMENT, Aug 2021: "You need to stay here. The treehouse is perfect and anything but rustic as it has a luxuriously comfortable queen sized bed, electricity, a coffee maker and a beautiful bathroom complete with a copper lined shower that over looks the forest. The wrap around porch is the perfect place to drink coffee and read a book. It is everything you wanted as your childhood treehouse times eleventy million. It was really the most magical and lovely place to stay. The drive in is gorgeous and pastural, followed by a drive down into a lush forest. We didn't get a chance to meet Lesley, but John was a wonderful host and a great human. Do not think twice about whether or not to stay here - you will love it. I can't wait to go back when we have more time! Guest access Upon arrival, we lead you in your own car, whether a Jeep or a Prius, about a third of a mile through the forest right up to the foot of the treehouse staircase, where parking is wherever you want. A campfire/grille and Weber charcoal barbeque is right there for your use. We show you how to use the electricity, propane room heater, and shower. We also show where all the miles of trails are that you can explore, and how to enjoy the educational experience of the ranch operation and animals. Other things to note No wifi. The Eagle's Nest is meant to be a wilderness experience, not an adjunct of Silicon Valley. Most people have at least text service at the treehouse. Pet policy: While we do allow well-behaved dogs, there is a pet fee of $75/pet per reservation, with a maximum of two. No cats allowed. Late arrivals: If you arrive after 9pm, you will incur a late arrival fee of $50., which increases each hour.
