You will fall in love with the historic charm and comfortable accommodations of this meticulously restored 1871 train depot. Located in the Magic Capitol of the World, Colon is a small community in southwest Michigan. Walk to the quaint village of Colon and visit magic shops, enjoy the local theatre’s and dining. Bring your boat and enjoy one of the all sports lakes close by, or catch some fish for dinner. Kayaks and canoes can be put in at various spots along the St. Joe river. The space Completed in 1871 the Depot was moved to it's current location in 1993. Methodically restored piece-by-piece back to it's authentic state, the Depot contains all of the now antique "window weight" windows, most of the original doors and nearly all of the interior beaded wainscoting and exterior siding. The green color scheme is the original Depot colors. Situated on a hill, just above where the original train tracks laid, on a nice size lot, with no neighbors either side. A front patio provides shade during the daytime and at the back, train platforms and a patio offer peaceful views of wildlife. Inside you will find clean comfortable furnishings, many refinished antiques, multiple large animal mounts, a gorgeous restored sleigh, beautiful custom made cabinets, plenty of dishware, utensils and pots and pans. The kitchen also includes a microwave, refrigerator/freezer, double, deep sinks and plenty of paper goods for your stay. A brand new powder room is located off the kitchen. Downstairs are 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom with a shower and a laundry room with a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board and a laundry rack for hanging wet items. The bathroom is stocked with plenty of clean towels and additional linens and blankets can be found in either of the walk-in closets in the bedrooms. Guest access All rooms with the exception of the furnace room and water heater closet. Other things to note 1 dog 35 lbs and under may accompany guest.
