The farmhouse is a 6 bedroom family home set in rural West Dorset. Just over a mile from the market town of Bridport, it is a tranquil place with a large well-loved garden & beautiful views, close to footpaths. The original setting for the TV series 'Beyond River Cottage', it is just a short drive from local beaches of the Jurassic coast. Ideal for a family holiday. Dog friendly. Extra guests can only be added after consultation with the host. The largest double room has an extra pullout bed that can be made up if requested. Guest access Guests have completely private and full access to the house and garden. The property is reached via its own farm lane off the main road. The owners live nearby and when around are happy to offer local information or advice if requested. Other things to note Lower Atrim Farm was a working dairy farm until 2004 when Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall rented the outbuildings to test a business venture called River Cottage HQ. After a successful TV series based on setting up a smallholding around a cottage in Dorset he made a follow up series 'Beyond River Cottage' which was filmed in the barn and surrounding land. The business model was successful and a permanent River Cottage HQ was set up between nearby Lyme Regis and Axminster. The land at Lower Atrim Farm is now used to support a small beef herd with different feed crops grown each year. Occasionally some of the fields are also used to graze sheep. It is a tranquil place, far from the noise of city life. This has been the Byrne family home for over twenty years and we hope you love it as much as we do.
