Tregrehan Garden Cottages, Gamekeeper's Cottage

Description

Stepped in history, the Gamekeeper's Cottage sits at the entrance of the courtyard at TREGREHAN GARDEN COTTAGES just north of Crinnis beach, Par. With a private walled garden in a serene location of garden, parkland & fields, it is one of 5 cottages ideally located near many great attractions and a joy to get home to in the evenings. Cool in the summer with high ceilings and toasty in the winter with an excellent wood-burner lit for your arrival. We hope to meet you! The space Ideal for one to 3 who like the extra space, or a young family. Dogs are welcome at £40 per dog (max 2). Short weekend breaks include Sunday afternoon departure. A spacious two bedroom, all–season cottage at the end of the old carriage building. Renovated with slate worktop & wood floors, a new kitchen and a stair case allowing natural light and direct access to the private walled garden. Soak in the bath and settle in front of the wood-burner on colder evenings after your coastal walk; wood is included in the price. Relax in your sunny walled garden with a book and BBQ, disturbed only by drumming woodpeckers and summers’ fledgling swallows. Explore beyond the walled labyrinth of the old grain mill and Tregrehan kitchen garden to experience the extraordinary woodland tree collection covering 20ha. The cottage’s front garden opens to a cobbled courtyard over which horse and carriage relayed many generations of Carlyon family living in the main house below. A high stone and timber walled garden gives privacy and views of the towering trees of Tregrehan Garden on the east side. From the west the entrance drive passes under a lime tree alley through parkland and woodland. Many of Cornwall's great attractions are within 20 minutes by car or foot: the historic villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Charlestown, Cornwall’s Great Garden’s including the Eden Project and miles of exploration through woods and along coastal paths with shining seas and sandy beaches makes this a serene location. Guest access Guests may wander freely in the Parkland. The cottage has a large private garden with outdoor furniture. Tregrehan Garden is free to guests during opening times and at other times on request. Other things to note During the COVID~19 pandemic we follow the cleaning protocol advised by the national Tourism Alliances & Govt guidelines including effective cleaning systems necessary for SARS-CoV-2 virus. We are signed up to the 'AA Covid-confident charter'. We are fortunate with space in this extra-ordinary garden environment to allow you to freely explore the landscape in safety. Your cottage has a private garden and the surrounding parkland, garden and fields take you to the foot paths in the hills behind or to the coast a mile south. Crinnis Beach at Carlyon Bay and Vault Beach west of Gorran Haven are beautiful and very long beaches, ideal for social distancing. Follow the leats to realise Luxulyan’s industrial heritage in the now dappled wooded valley nearby. Occasionally we have public events at Tregrehan Garden including a Rare Plant Fair in May, the Tregrehan Garden Hill Climb ( end of June and mid-October), and Charity Open Garden events
