Description
Warm and comfortable, the Carapace is situated in a peaceful orchard with fabulous views of wooded hillsides and the Black Mountains, which form a backdrop to the pretty town of Hay on Wye and its Castle. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the town, where there are good places to eat and drink, an arts venue and a fascinating selection of quirky shops and, of course, all the famous 2nd hand bookshops. This is a wonderful place for walking, riding, canoeing, cycling and many other outdoor activities. The space A cosy yet high ceilinged room with a large picture window. Can be made up as a large double bed or 2 single beds. There is also a sofa bed making this unusual space available to up to 3 persons (or a family with 2 small children sharing the sofa bed) Guest access There is a parking space dedicated to The Carapace just behind the property. It is an easy walk to Hay on Wye town or the River Wye as well as 2 national trails: Offa's Dyke Path and The Wye Valley Walk Other things to note The Carapace has a well equipped 'camp kitchen' just nearby with a fridge, gas hob, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. There is a charcoal bar b q that can be used as a fire pit for a camp fire. Bathing facilities are a hot shower and a wash basin in a lockable camp structure just next door. The toilet is composting type.
