Riverside cottage

The most idyllic riverside escape! Gooseland Cottage sits on the edge of the River Tavy, close to the village of Bere Ferrers, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to Dartmoor National Park. Tides allowing, enjoy sailing, paddling, or swimming - within yards of your door. Or just soak up the view and read by the woodburner. A bird watching haven - egrets, swans, geese, avocets, osprey, European roller (2023) and this year ... a sea eagle! Masses of walking trails and cycling. The space The cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - one with a bath, the other with a shower. There is also a downstairs cloakroom and, for the hardy/banished/adventurous, an outside loo in a lovely little stone shed across the courtyard. Woodburner - we will provide you with one large basket of chopped wood, some kindling and firelighters. Wifi - please don't expect this to be lightening fast (the cottage is at the end of the line), but it's adequate for emails and streaming (although not more than one film at a time). Dogs - if well behaved (!) dogs (maximum of 2) are very welcome. There are some doggy house rules (not upstairs and not on furniture) and the cottage does back onto a sheep field. Boating - please feel free to bring your own paddleboards and kayaks, or even bigger boats. You should check with us (or check tide tables) to be sure the tides will be right for your boating plans. Kitchen - fully equipped with dishwasher, large fridge, large freezer, electric oven, rayburn, Nespresso mini. There's also a utility room with washing machine and dryer. Children - I'm really sorry but there are too many hazards for us to navigate for us to accept young children.
