Description

The glampsite is located within the South Downs National Park, set in around 10 acres. We are completely secluded, surrounded by stunning countryside, with the nearby market town of Petersfield is just 3 miles away, and the Ashford Hangers National Nature Reserve just a few minutes walk. The space We have three 6m bell tents available to book either together or separately, each furnished with a double bed, rugs and other home comforts. Single camp beds or airbeds can be provided if required, each tent can sleep up to 5 people. The toilet and shower facilities are located in our new toilet and shower block with flushing loos and hot showers just seconds from your bell tent. You can spend the evening sitting around the fire pit provided enjoying the views and keeping an eye out for local wildlife, or take a walk to one of the many local pubs; including the Hawkley Inn, Trooper and Spread Eagle. We can deliver breakfast to your tent. The glampsite is in a field a short walk from the farm house, where we have cows, sheep, horses, dogs, chickens, (their eggs are included in our breakfast hampers) and last but not least pgymy goats Gordon and Geoffrey! If you want a peaceful getaway and a bit of fresh air but with all the creature comforts then this is for you! Each bell tent booking includes; - Firepit, outdoor seating area, gas cooker, water container - Double bed with full bedding - Single camp beds provided on request - Cooking essentials, crockery/cutlery - Blankets - One bag of fire wood is provided, and more is available to buy There is parking in the glamping field. Please bring extra bedding for the additional beds (we only provide bedding for the main double) and we do not provide towels. Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit. If you’re looking to book for a group of family or friends, and would like to book two or three tents and therefore have the site to yourselves please just send us a message and we can make sure that the tents are booked for you. If you have more than 10 people staying we can also accommodate you if you want to bring extra tents, for which there is a small fee. Optional extras include breakfast hampers, s’mores package, or tea and cake with our Pygmy goats Gordon and Geoffrey! Other things to note We are very lucky to be set in The Beautiful South Downs National Park and therefore we asked that guests respect the surroundings and wildlife at all times. We cannot allow powered music on the glamp site and ask that the noise is kept to a minimum after dark. The farm is set in the South Downs National Park, an hours drive from London, and only a few minutes off the A3 takes you into the beautiful undulations of the Hampshire hills. The site is the perfect place to leave the stress behind and relax or link up with the South Downs Way, a 160 km route from Winchester to Eastbourne, or the Shipwrights Way Cycle Route. Popular pubs in the area, all in varying degree’s of walking distance include The Harrow Inn, The Hawkley Inn and The Pub With No Name (aka The White Horse). Examples of local points of interest include: A walk amongst the Ashford Hangers nature reserve, along with its network of walking tracks it holds important historical connections to the 18th Century naturalist Gilbert White and the war time poet, Edward Thomas who’s memorial stone within the Hangers offers a commanding view of the South Downs Way with Petersfield lying beneath The secretive Priors Dean Vineyard overlooking the local village of Hawkley - wine from the vineyard can be made available on request The ancient market town of Petersfield is approximately 3 miles away, with lively town square and weekly markets, also offering mainline train station to further afield destinations such as Portsmouth historical dockyards or the Isle of Wight A short drive away … Selborne – Gilbert White Museum Queen Elizabeth Country Park Hangers Way – Alton railway station to Queen Elizabeth Country Park Butser Hill – Highest point in Hampshire Butser Ancient Farm (when open) Harting Hill – Beautiful walking routes Goodwood Racecourse Cowdray Park Petworth Park Watercress Line , Alton 45 minute drive to the beach Devils Punch Bowl is a 15 minute drive Meon Springs which offers fishing experiences Shipwrights Way – a cycle route from Bentley to Portsmouth Dockyard, part of national cycle network route 22 linking London to Portsmouth If the current listing is not available on your preferred dates, please take a look at our other bell tent listings.
