The Blenheim Suite in historic Holladay House
The Blenheim Suite is on the second floor of the historic Holladay House in downtown Orange, Virginia. Guests in the Blenheim enjoy: * Living in the ca. 1830 portion of the house * Shared use of the parlor, study, and dining room * A combination of historic decor and modern conveniences * Free off-street parking * Walking distance to all sights in Orange, short driving distance to Madison's Montpelier, Jefferson's Monticello, Monroe's Highland, wineries, Shenandoah National Park, and more! The space There are three other guest rooms on the second floor of the house, as well as two on the walk-out basement level. Your hosts live in a suite on the first floor. The Blenheim and its attached sitting room overlook Main St., a perfect spot for watching the world go by, reading a book, or watching TV. From your windows, you can see the James Madison Museum and the historic St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where Robert E. Lee attended services during the winter of 1863-64, following the Confederate loss at Gettysburg. Guest access Inside, guests have access to the common-use parlor, study, and dining room. Outside, guests may enjoy the side porch, back porch, back balcony, and the gardens. During your stay We enjoy hearing our guests' many and varied stories. If you prefer minimal interaction, that's totally fine, too! Since we live in the house, we will nearby during most guest stays. If you need us, call, text, holler, or knock on our door! Other things to note The room has streaming TV provided by Roku. There is a lot of content available, but if you are looking for a particular show or sports game, guests are welcome to view them on their own device with their own streaming service. The windows in the Blenheim are very old (neat!) and have been painted shut for decades.
