Living off the grid in a cozy cabin surrounded by nature sounds like a unique and peaceful experience. The addition of chickens, goats, and a beekeeping experience adds to the charm of the stay. This is a small Hobbie Farm with a cute rustic cabin with a compost toilet and a mini woodstove. Nestled in its own little yard wildlife may be about. Deer , fox, even little mice and bunnies scurry about. We want our guests to understand this is a rustic listing with an off grid menu. The space This is our second off grid listing. After creating our first tiny house Airbnb we knew we wanted to make another . Here you can Sleep in a 12x16 off grid cabin with a tiny wood stove powered all by the sun. Stars and Sage is a remote location close to Amish farms and Oswego County snowmobile trail. We are ten minutes from Lake Ontario where you can fish, kayak, boat or enjoy a one of a kind sunset. Stars and Sage allows you to enjoy a magical evening under the stars for one night or more . Free range chickens wander about . They are all friendly. Bring your bikes or cross country skis. The trail right along the property is perfect for both. Snowmobiling is also an option with the trail close by. There are two solar bag showers for you to use in seasonal weather. You can use our hose to fill the shower bag and any water you need. Feel free to bring your own camping shower if desired as well. The land has rough terrain so please be extra careful where you walk. It is strongly suggested to wear comfortable shoes or mud boots to walk the trail down to your site. You will have a rock fire area. Please be certain to put the fire out when it is not in use or if you leave the property. We will provide small wood for the tiny wood stove in cold weather. This wood needs to be smaller than traditional length . Please do not use this small wood for the fire pit outside. We recommend bug spray and flashlight. You will also have a picnic table in your campsite. There are also two chairs to sit at your site and relax. There is a stream that runs through the property. Please do not fish in the stream for our guests and dog walk in the waters . We want to keep everyone safe from those snags that leave behind hooks. Stars and Sage is a one of a kind location for you to experience an off grid lifestyle in a remote location. The cabin has a glorious view of the stream. Inside you will find a queen size hanging bed for sleeping. There is no wifi. Cell service is good. We will also provide a one burner butane cooker, a Mr Buddy heater and snowshoes for two. There is a plug to charge your cell phones near the entrance on the panel. You will also see the switch for lights . There is also a remote to turn on an additional light above the bed. Please bring your own drinking water. There is a compost toilet and foot pump sink in your cabin. Enjoy!! Upon check out, you should leave no trace of your stay. Be sure to return your campsite to its natural glory. Be sure to bring everything out that you brought for your stay including trash. If there is trash left or damage to the property you will be charged a minimum $50 cleaning fee. Reminder again water is not available year round because of cold freezing temperatures so you will need to plan around this fact. Please message us for details on the beekeeping experience or the bead and breakfast add on. Please do not book our cabin and arrive unprepared expecting a refund . The large cabin out front is our home .Feel free to walk and explore the property and stream . The cabin in the front is off limits to guests. Feel free to explore the stream and search for crawfish and watch out for snakes and snapping turtles. You may see ducks and cranes. Water levels do fluctuate a lot. The water edge may fluctuate and flood the area if we get a lot of rain. Snowshoes are available in your cabin for use. Just bring your boots. If you’d like to set up a time to hang out with the goats let us know ! Other things to note We encourage you to bring bug spray, lanterns, or flashlight. Other things to bring include pans, drinking water, utensils, first aid kit, garbage bags, cooler, dry firewood for your outdoor fire and games and fishing poles. Please be careful while walking the property. There are holes and rough terrain all about. Keep your eyes open for ticks. The bridge near your cabin gets slippery so please be careful! In cold months plan to bring extra blankets to stay cozy. Reminder we will provide wood for the wood stove. Remember your matches and fire starting materials too! We also provide propane for your Mr Buddy heater in the cabin. Thank for your stay. During cold months the hose will be put away and the shower area as well. We recommend showering at a local planet fitness or gym.
