Welcome to the lake! Come stay at Dad's Route 66 cabin on the Trout oasis of the Ozarks-- Lake Taneycomo. Rockaway Beach, a hidden gem, was the former playground to the Rich and Famous of the 20th century. President Truman, Al Capone and JP Morgan are just a few of the names that vacationed in this resort village. Vintage two bedroom one bath bungalow Route 66 decorated! We are 23 minutes from Silver Dollar City and 19 minutes from the Branson Landing. The space This cabin was built in the 1950s. We have kept some of the 50s charm and added modern appliances for your comfort! Our décor reflects the timeline with Route 66 and vintage car parts decorated throughout the home. Here are the specifications on our cabin: • Kitchen: Full sized appliances- stove and oven, microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer. Coffee bar with regular coffee pot, Folgers coffee grounds, sugars, creamer, hot cocoa, tea, and filters. We have all the essential items to help you prepare meals including plates, bowls, silverware, mixing bowls, strainer, pots and pans, cooking utensils, barbeque utensils, and spices. Dish rack, soap, and sponge provided. • Front Room: The front room has a breakfast bar with three stools to sit and watch the wildlife overlooking the lake. Kiddos can enjoy a daybed with trundle, toys, coloring books, and two little chairs in a sitting area. Local brochures are next to the door. • Living Room: We have a loveseat and oversized leather chair with several throw blankets and pillows. The living room has a tv that has a DVD player and streaming services but no cable. There is a folding card table and 4 folding chairs in the master bedroom for your use. There are several card games, magazines, and DVDs for your enjoyment. • Bathroom: The full-sized bathroom has a shower with shampoo, conditioner, and soap for your use. There are clean towels and washrags in the cupboards and two rolls of toilet paper provided per stay. • Bedroom: Master bedroom with medium firm queen bed, comfortably decorated with soft linens and a blanket. One pack n play for infants. There is no closet to hang clothes but there are a few drawers in the main bedroom for your use. • Outdoor Space: We are located on the shores of Lake Taneycomo. Nice patio outside with patio table, umbrella, rocking loveseat, and three chairs to enjoy some morning coffee. The house shares the dock, fire pit, and charcoal grill with the one other cabin on the property. Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. Private, year-round hot tub! The hot tub is set at 100. It is an older model hot tub so there are no high pressure jets, only low pressure jets. Quiet hours are from midnight to 7 AM, so please be quiet if you are outside during these hours. We are on the banks of lake taneycomo and have several kayaks for adventures. There are lifejackets in our laundry room. Our shared dock is ready for you to fish off or park your boat. Please be aware that all lake activities are at your own risk. We are currently renting our 8 person pontoon out from this dock! There may be boat guests utilizing the dock and parking. If you’d like to rent out our pontoon, please message us for more information!! • Pets: Pets must be supervised. They can not be left alone. They must stay off of the furniture and beds. They must be in a kennel when you are not there. They must be on a leash outside. Please pick up poo outside so other guests don’t step in it. Due to the extra work involved in cleaning up after pets, we do have a $15 pet fee. This does not cover major pet messes, but helps offset the cost of labor for my housekeepers. • Just like granny’s home, this cabin has some older features. While the floors are beautiful hardwood floors original to the home, it does slant a bit as the cabin was built on the frame of a log cabin. We continue to raise and level the floors but have to do this slowly to prevent major damages to the home. This should not hinder your stay. • Special Events Package: While we do not allow large gatherings or unapproved guests, we do want to help make your stay as special as possible. If you are staying for a special event like a birthday, wedding, or anniversary, we would love to help you prep for it! We now offer a special events package that includes cake, card, and some decor. This package is $40 and all items will be set up in the airbnb prior to check in. To receive this package, please message us and we will need to know favorite colors/ cartoon characters for the kiddos, cake flavor, and anything you want written on the card or to leave it blank for you. We will verify the amount of guests (to ensure we have enough cake!) and will ask for payment so we can get these items for you. Surprise your guests with a wonderful event package on your next vacation! Guest access You'll have access to the entire house as well as shared used of the dock, fire ring and charcoal grill. We also have several kayaks and a canoe for your use. They are in the parking area. Please be aware that these are shared and that the other guests may want to use them. All lake activities are at your own risk. Guests can access the laundry room. Please reach out for door code. Please use own detergent and be courteous of housekeeping/ other guests items. Move things from washer to dryer, dryer to basket. Other things to note There are several stairs from the driveway to the home. You must walk up stairs to enter the home. This is a residential area so no parties, loud music, or unregistered guests. No smoking in the house. There is a $100 fine if smoke or marijuana is detected in the house.
