Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Ideal for two people, this lake-front studio apartment is one within a four-plex, tucked away on a private drive in the countryside. This property is located on Old Highway 13 - between Murphysboro and Carbondale. You are right in the middle of many amenities and attractions sought after in the area - wineries, hiking, and SIU. A picnic table, charcoal grill, firepit, and string lights sets the outdoor space up nicely for a fun evening! The space This apartment is one of four that are being renovated for rental space. The outdoor space is shared between any renters present. The property is nestled on 80 acres of private, wooded land. The private lake is approximately 8 acres and 30 feet deep, stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish. We ask that if you decide to fish the lake, please catch and release only. Bring your own poles and gear. Boating/kayaking is ok on the lake, NO SWIMMING. There are no lifeguards present, so boating is at your own risk. Wi-Fi is available to use along with a 43" flat screen Smart TV. DVD player and DVD's are provided as well. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots/pans, utensils, basic spices, and necessities. Coffee, sugar, sweetener, creamer, and filters are also provided for use with the standard 12-cup coffee maker. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, handsoap, dishsoap, towels, and wash cloths are also provided. Other items that you may need for your trip may not be provided however - we aim to provide some items for convenience. Need more space for more guests? There are 5 wineries within about 20 miles of this home, many large hiking areas such as the Little Grand Canyon and Pomona Natural Bridge, and SIU/Carbondale is approximately 15 miles away. Murphysboro offers a variety of attractions as well, such as local restaurants, nationally-known BBQ joints like 17th Street and Pat's BBQ, several antique stores on the Main Street, and local pubs which serve locally made beer (Big Muddy Brewery).
