Blue Room.

We offer an authentic Alaskan, roughly finished but comfortable, fairly priced private room with access to a shared full kitchen. With six separately listed bedrooms in a hard working family’s home, centrally located off of iconic College Rd, we give a local experience with the convenience of town. This house was hand-built in the 1950s and shows its age. Guests share some common areas with our family which includes a large dog (Tomo), two pups, 3 hosts and an older kiddo Car rentals available The space Our home has 5 bedrooms in the basement of its south wing. We provide a simple private room, with a key lock that has been cleaned thoroughly with Simple Green between each stay. Aside from the private room guests have the entire South wing to share including its one and a half bathrooms, kitchen with its cookware and color coded dishes for each room, dining room, and our spacious living room with books, tv, comfortable seating, and abundance of natural light. If you have a vehicle there is plenty of off street parking with electrical outlets on the Northside of the house facing College Rd. Our house is over 70 years old and has things like water damage from the 1967 flood, dated color schemes, and much more. Fashionable resort seekers will be disappointed. Guest access -We offer self check in. Front door is open so come right in. -All guests are welcome to use our kitchen and cookware and then clean up promptly after themselves -You’re welcome to use our laundry machines -Our livingroom is a great place to relax with one of our books or dvds. -Fenced in backyard. -Parking spaces for all guest vehicles, there is plenty of space and easy access. -Bike rentals available for $10 per day from May 1st to Oct 1st. -Airport pickup or drop off available for $20 each way May 15th to Sept 1st. -Vehicle rental you can reserve through Turo. Message us for details and availability. During your stay We offer self check in or we can greet new guests that arrive before 10 PM. We are friendly introverts inclined to give guests their space, but are happy to socialize when engaged and answer any questions. We keep my name, phone number and WiFi password posted on a board in the dining room and I'm very responsive to texts. Other things to note Our home is all inclusive. We are environmentally conscious.  We (4 adults/hosts) live on the premises, an adolescent, a cat you will never see, and a big fluffy dog Tomo in the north wing of the house you can't miss. There can be up to 6 other guests sharing this large house.  Upon your arrival you will likely hear Tomo barking to let us know you have arrived. He is a friendly dog who has captured the hearts of many guests from around the world. Our home looks its age as we don't have the means for cosmetic improvements. In the summer we offer bike and tricycle rentals for $10 per day. Airport Pickup and drop off for $20 May through August. We also have a rental vehicle listed on Turo. Message for details.
