Charming Maine Farmhouse & 1 full breakfast! (Rm2)
Description
Come stay in my charming 1870 Maine farmhouse! You'll feel right at home...maybe even better! Start your first day with a delicious, full homemade breakfast (not just cake & coffee) Spend your days in quaint seaside towns or shopping at the nearby Kittery Outlets, treat yourself to fresh Maine lobster or relax or read (AKA Nap) here on the 80' wrap around farmer's porch. One Queen bed w/ new, comfy mattress, freshly laundered crisp cotton sheets and toasty warm blankets ♥ The space This is a very old farmhouse (but not a farm) from 1870. The Civil War had ended and President Lincoln had been assassinated just 5 years prior. Horse and buggy were the most popular means of transportation and rib-crushing corsets and bustles were all the rage for woman’s wear. Well things have changed a bit since Jeremiah Stone built this house. It's modernized enough to be very comfortable yet retain its old world charm. Nothing is square or level 150 years later but that is part of the charm of an antique home! And it is a HOME. Not just a shell that was gutted and redone to accommodate as many guests as possible. All of the rooms are eclectic decor with a mix of old and new but mostly reflects my love for the 40's and 50's. It's sure to bring a bit of nostalgia to the table! There's lots to look at but not cluttered. The rooms share the two full bathrooms, both w/ showers. Plush cotton towels for each guest are provided. Free parking on both a driveway and safe roadside parking (until the snow and plows come). Easy access to all Maine and NH has to offer. Summer beaches, fall festivals, holiday parades and shopping. Just a short drive to quaint seaside towns such as Ogunquit, Kittery, Kennebunkport, Portland, ME. Portsmouth, NH, Newburyport, MA., the White Mountains and one hour from Boston. Or take a short stroll to the Maine/NH line and have a beer on the river at the Corner Point Brewery. I’m just 3.5 miles from The Red Barn at Outlook Farm if you’re attending any weddings! Beautiful Maine beaches are just 14 miles away. Feel free to use the beach chairs, beach towels and coolers for your coastal excursions. A brand new grill is available to use on the patio. Unfortunately, not handicapped accessible. The bedrooms are up a steeper staircase that is not great for small children. I do have three cats that are very friendly and well behaved, including a 23lb Maine Coon named Slug and two playful brothers names Chunks and Puddin’. They spend much of the days outside sunning themselves on the porch (except in winter) but they are indoors as well and this is their home so expect them to be seen here and there. They will happily take any attention you have to give. They are Love Sponges ❤️ Please note that just because I don’t specify every single thing that is not allowed, (such as bringing a mountain lion or parking 5 campers on the lawn etc) please don’t assume it is. Simply ask if you are unsure. Thank you! Guest access Guests are allowed to use their room, the bathrooms, living area and kitchen. Please note that my home is for AirB&B guests only. During your stay This room is in my private home where I also live. There is another queen room that may or may not be occupied and the bathrooms are shared. But there are two full baths so that's not ever been an issue. I work a lot here in my home studio doing lampwork glass (small scale glass blowing. I'll even give you a demo or lesson!) On one morning of your choice, you'll get a beautiful, homemade breakfast of eggs any style, with toast or English muffin and organic coffee/tea OR you can go for my world famous French toast with real maple syrup and butter! You can decided when you check in. (Although most people go for the homemade French toast!) Other things to note Check-in is between 2-4 but if you need a later check in, please just let me know ahead of time so I can plan my time around it :) Fall is on the horizon, folks! And I do book up fast as the Leaf Peepers roll in to see the most beautiful colors in nature! Before you know it, the leaves are-a-changing and it’ll be yet another beautiful autumn!
