Lake Merritt is considered by many to be the jewel of Oakland. No smokers, so please see house rules if you smoke. I'm a dance teacher with an in-home studio, so I may be working with students during your stay. I've lived in Oakland all of my adult life and can tell you the best places to go in the East Bay and San Francisco, as well as the tourist traps to avoid. If you're dancers, I can also tell you where to go dancing. For a unique San Francisco experience, I can take you swing dancing in Golden Gate Park on Sunday mornings where you can take a free half hour beginner lesson at noon and join the regular dancers for lunch in a nearby restaurant a couple of hours later. It's a free, and one of a kind, event! I also offer a half off special for Airbnb guests who want to take a lesson from me! You share kitchen and laundry with me. During your stay I am happy to chat with you when you are feeling sociable and leave you to your privacy when you want to be alone. I also enjoy sharing insider tips about little known places to visit. My meal schedule is erratic and I eat when I have a chance in between students, so usually I'm not able to share meals with you. Other things to note The front door opens with a code, so you don't have to carry a key.
