Roomy bedroom and private bath filled with light -- but with room-darkening curtains for sleep. You have access to all the common areas in the house: a large, open living/dining combo with windows that bring the beauty of the mountains in. You're welcome to use the kitchen, too, but be aware that other guests could be at the property. When the weather's nice, feel free to use the covered patio where you can hear the mountain stream. The space Don't miss visiting historic Portal 31, the only mine tour in the U.S. A coal mine museum is also in the neighboring town of Benham. Outdoor activities are all around, including one of the most amazing parks in Kentucky, Kingdom Come State Park. Black Mountain is a frequent destination, since it's the highest point in the state, and a ton of other hiking trails offer strenuous exercise or leisurely walks. Nearby are a pool and 7-hole golf course (open Memorial through Labor Day weekend). Guest access You have access to the living / dining / kitchen areas. Be aware that, on rare occasions, you may need to share with other guests. During your stay Betsy & Art are sometimes on-site in a separate apartment. You can have as much or as little contact as you choose. Either way, Betsy is usually available for messaging & responds promptly.
