“The Ark” Moon's Thai Homestay

Get closer to nature in our teak wood cottage, situated in magnificent gardens, beside paddy fields and just 5km to Lanna International School. Featuring The Ark, our new family bedroom, we provide accommodation for 1 group (exclusive for you) up to 10 guests in a cosy and comfortable setting. The house sits within our gardens and we welcome you into our home as new friends. We also serve you a substantial Thai breakfast each morning* *Excludes 15+day long stay bookings The space We have 4 Bedrooms. One bedroom with ensuite bathroom on the ground floor (suitable for wheelchair access). Upstairs, a master bedroom with ensuite, and opposite the outdoor sitting room the "den", a small bedroom ideal for teens. Outside, the "Ark", a family bedroom with a double bed and 2 bunks set into the sloping walls. Designed for comfortable open air living but with air conditioning. Santisook is a Thai farm house made of teak which gives views looking out over the pond to one side, and towards the paddy fields on the other. The floorboards may creak in places, the teak doors twist in the humidity of rainy season. But it's cosy and charming, especially in the open sitting room upstairs. Being situated next to and part of nature, you can expect to encounter much wildlife. In particular the birds. And frogs, turtles, squirrels, and field mice in the paddy fields, cicadas at night. The ground floor is completely wheelchair friendly from car park to bathroom. Guest access The house is all yours. We live opposite within the same land (our gardens) and can help with tours, sightseeing and local information. Please note: we are a little "off the beaten track". Car rental or scooter hire is ideal, but Grab taxi service works well too. Other things to note Location: We are located beside paddyfields, a small typical Thai mooban (village) and the village temple. This is a place to come and stay to relax. We are 18km from Chiang Mai city centre. We are 15km from the airport. It can take 30-40 minutes to get up to town depending on traffic and traffic lights at red. The nearest shop is 2.5km away (7-11 Baan Tawai) Hang Dong town is 4km away (fresh market and shops) We recommend you have some wheels (scooter etc) to get around from here. Grab and the other ride-hailing companies are available. We have transport connections with local individuals and companies who can help, with prior planning. Our gardens, our "farm", the teak houses and the neighbouring paddy fields are "our location" and these are beautiful and relaxing. There is an accurate dot on the map to show you where we are.
