For the less energetic, wait for high tide & catch the ferry (Summer only) Or join those in the know, for a swim at low tide at bank hole (we call it the Burnham Overy Staithe lido!) HOUGHTON HALL & GARDENS (13 miles) - Lavish mansion built for Britain's first prime minister, and hosting wonderful annual exhibitions PENSTHORPE NATURAL PARK (14 miles) wildlife, bird watchers and family day out with outdoor and indoor adventure play grounds  and great cafe RSPB SNETTISHAM (18 miles) Panoramic views across saline lagoons, salt marsh and mud flats that make up The Wash.
