Enjoy a romantic break by a log/coal fire...dream away. Relax. Excellent for 2 - 5 people, including workmen. Stroll, cycle, fly a kite, run or play on the sand. The space A spacious 3 bedroomed character cottage - circa 1740 - welcomes you. Its a little quirky, with beams. (A cosy log fire can be made - logs etc available from local garages). Ground floor : 2 comfortable cosy lounges (lower head re doorways) separate dining area, kitchen, utility room, walk-in shower/toilet room, and front conservatory. Outside rear : a walled private quiet area, (not grassed) sunny from 8am til 3pm summertime where you can relax, eat and drink using comfortable outdoor furniture. 1st floor - TWO FRONT BEDROOMS sea facing with stunning sunsets : one has a comfy king bed/ TV/2 chairs/furniture. Other has a comfy double with/TV/armchair & chair & sliding mirrored wardrobe.. both with beams and latch doors. SNUG SINGLE at the back with furniture, velux window, beam.. BATHROOM with shower over the bath. Guest access VISITORS park free on grass opposite. In Allonby and all along coast parking is free. BUSES - Services from Allonby to Silloth (north) and to Maryport and Workington (South). Also to Cockermouth, Keswick and Carlisle. From Keswick in summer there's an open top bus which goes round Lake District. ) see internet for info. Other things to note MISC INFO TVs x 3. Two are 43 " Samsung Smart TVs with bluetooth in lounge & King bedroom. smaller one in double bedroom. King bedroom has a feather duvet.. please note if you are allergic. Double & single rooms are polyester duvets. There are blankets in the wardrobes, and spare pillows. If tall lower head re a couple of doorways. There are 6 (portable) half steps in situ where steps or stairs are higher than usual which some people will find helpful. Please bring your own chopsticks & foil for the oven.. LEISURE CENTRES : Allonby -Spring Lea does meals & entertainment in summer. Silloth - Stanwix - mobile home park- has a swimming pool, bowling alley, pool table, children's play facilities - check opening times on internet. Allonby has a playground by the bridge. Two pubs in Allonby serve food - Jacks Surf Bar (no dogs allowed) and The Ship. Check opening times on internet for these especially winter. 'Seaglass' takeaway by the bridge sells baked potatoes, egg, beans, burgers, paninis, sandwiches, soup, tea & coffee til 2pm (4pm 2 days..) newly opened Nov 2025. Mawbray - village 4 miles north of Allonby - is Lowther Arms pub - does good hearty meals & is dog friendly. Maryport (5 miles South of Allonby) has restaurants, cafes, pubs, a 'Activity Centre' - see internet for details, Lidl, petrol station, shops, an Aquarium, 'Go Karting', a Harbour, 2 Marinas & a campsite by 1 of them. Train Stn. Roman Settlement & museum with a high cliff top walk or car ride to it with fine coastal views. Workington - cinema nearby. The town centre is pedestrianised with shops, pubs, restaurants, library.. a Railway Stn. Nightclubs. On the outskirts is 'Clay Flats' - which has a large selection of stores incl Aldi.. Whitehaven - has an attractive harbour & tourist attractions are The Beacon, Rum Story. Shops, pubs, restaurants. St. Bees - cliffs, a big sandy beach with a great cafe by the car park - very popular with visitors. Wasdale Lake & spectacular mountain views is south & inland in the Lake District National Park.. excellent walking, hiking and a great pub at the end. Dove cottage - Coal, wood, sticks can be bought at local garages if you want a cosy real fire.. DOG - one/two well behaved allowed - but no puppies sorry. There is a £19 charge on booking. Please bring 4 covers for use on the settees and a dog basket for night sleeping. Keep bedroom doors closed so that your dog does not go in or jump on the beds. Please bring a towel to wipe sandy /muddy paws in the conservatory. Thank you. From early or mid December cottage Christmas decorations and tree go up to celebrate the festive season.. Cottage not suitable for young toddlers as no stair gate, no high chair, nor cot in the cottage. SMOKING NOT ALLOWED. IF ELECTRIC GOES OFF (only in cotrage rather than the area) the metal RCD box is on the right hall wall next to the meter cupboard - its about 10 inches wide & white.. look to see if any switches are down (off). If so switch up, down then back up again. Torch on sideboard for emergency, or use your mobile light.
