"An Ode to Joy" OBX beach house, Wild Horse Haven!

On the 4WD...Swan Beach... northern OBX of NC sits a nautical paradise vacation home from it's decor to its natural surroundings. If you are a surfer, fisherman, beach comber, or you just simply love the ocean, wild horses will not be able to drag you away from this spot. This vacation beach house has ocean and sound views with spectacular sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean and sunsets over the Currituck sound. The house backs up to the wildlife refuge and the wild horses are frequent visitor The space *Note for 2026: Airbnb is changing the way it prices stays so when you see the price by the owner , it's the total price. They used to add on charges to owner's price and charge it to the renters, now they charge the owners . Your total price to rent "An Ode to Joy" should be basically the same as 2025 It is a Sunday to Sunday rental or Sunday to Saturday rental for the summer months but any day check in/ out with 3 night minimum from March 1- May 25 and Sept 7-Dec 31. This beautiful beach vacation home is 250 yards walk to the beach and has ocean views to the east. It backs up to the Currituck National wildlife refuge... this creates a very private backyard with a fire pit, propane grill, large deck and plenty of seating. The wild horses are frequent visitors here along with deer, foxes, eagles, and other beautiful creatures! Watch Sunsets on the Currituck sound from the large backyard deck . The home has 3 masters ...1 king, 2 queens and a half bath upstairs where you'll experience an open floor plan, very well equipped kitchen, and a sun room that has a queen sleeper sofa. There are 2 large decks on the ocean side with seating. There is also an outside shower and seating area under the home that is out of the elements. Under the house is a renters closet with a mini fridge and extra free standing freezer. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, rafts, boogie boards, a surf board ( lesson available), a tandem kayak , beach towels are supplied. Linens and bath towels are included. We are local owners and can be there for you if you need us. 😊 (You will need a 4WD or AWD to get here...) No smoking in or on the property! Guest access It is a Sunday to Sunday rental or Sunday to Saturday during the summer months. From March 1-May 25 and Sept. 7-Dec 31 you can check in/out any day of the week with a 3 night minimum . You have the entire house It is a beautiful 3 mile drive on the beach to get to the house so you will need a 4WD or AWD vehicle ( with 7 inches of clearance ) to get here Turn up to the house from the beach is at the 16 1/2 mile marker onto Canary Lane Other things to note It is a Sunday to Sunday rental or Sunday to Saturday Minimum 6 night stay for the summer months . 3 night minimums with check in/out any day allowed from March 1-May 25 and Sept 7-Dec 31 Check in is always on Sunday by 4:00 during the summer 1 pet allowed with prearrangement and agreement on pet policy No smoking in or on the property! It backs up to a beautiful wild life refuge so there are no houses behind you creating a very private back yard.
