Description
This is ORIYAMAKE's Special Deluxe Ultra Plan! (See separate page for room-only plans) Go on a traditional hunt with Matagi in the beautiful forests and mountains. ORIYAMAKE explains how the people who live there have lived for 13,000 years and explains the wide variety of flora and fauna. Why don't you experience the art of coexisting with the mountains and surviving various eras up close? The place to experience is a quiet place surrounded by mountains in the central part of Akita Prefecture. Because you will be walking on a mountain owned by ORIYAMAKE, it is a private space where you will not run into other tourists. You can also collect and cook wild herbs that are forbidden on the mountain trail. Starting with the dismantling of a chicken with the participants, we will make a bonfire in the mountains to cook lunch and a Kiritampo pot, a local dish for entertaining visitors. You can learn about the spirituality and connection to nature of the Matagi, who live in gratitude for all flora and fauna. Includes accommodation, rental of gloves, boots, rain gear, etc., guide fees, insurance, meals (dinner on day 1, breakfast, lunch, dinner on day 2, breakfast on day 3), and drinks The space [Highlights] ◎ Experience the hunting scene with Matagi ◎ Learn about the history, culture, rituals, and local nature of Matagi in a practical way ◎ Cook and eat wild vegetables and bear meat in the mountains ◎ Butchering, cooking, and eating Hinai chicken ◎ Enjoy a stay in a 75-year-old traditional house and meet a local family ◎ Enjoy a secret hot spring surrounded by mountains [Rough content] (Day 1: Learn about Matagi culture) 1. Stop by the hot springs on the way and check in in the evening 2. Matagi-style welcome tea (5 types of medicinal tea experience) and dinner (menu centered on bear meat stew and Hinai chicken and egg bowl) 3. Explanation of Matagi culture (about traditional bear hunting methods) 4. If the stars are out at night, observe the stars related to Matagi with an astronomical telescope. (Day 2: Mountain walk and Hinai chicken butchering) 1. Breakfast (bread or rice) 2. Mountain walk in the hunting grounds with Matagi (select a course according to your physical strength) ◎ We will give you one Nagasa (mountain sword), which is said to be the soul of Matagi. We will perform a Matagi ritual to cleanse ourselves before entering the mountain. While looking for wildlife in the mountains, we will explain the trees that are important to the lives of local residents and introduce you to the use of important tools for walking in the mountains. 3. Make tea with medicinal plants collected on the spot. Take a break with hot tea and local specialty butter mochi. We will explain the ecosystem of the wildlife living in the mountain and their relationship with humans. 4. Arrive at the lunch spot in the mountains. While introducing the ancient fire-starting techniques, we will make a lunch centered on wild vegetables and bear meat over a campfire. Participants collect nearby plants and make their own chopsticks and forks on the spot. 5. After lunch, you will cut your own fragrant Akita cedar in the mountains and try to make a coaster as a souvenir. 6. After the mountain walk, we will challenge you to dismantle the Hinai chicken (* You can also cancel the dismantling of the chicken and extend the mountain walk course.) ◎ In Akita, the best hospitality dish when visiting is said to be Kiritampo Nabe. We will perform a ritual of gratitude for the chicken and pray to the mountain gods as we cook. 7. After the Hinai chicken is butchered, it is time to move to the hot spring and take a bath while the chicken bones are stewed. 8. Return to the inn and make Akita's local dish, Kiri Tanpo, by hand in the sunken hearth. 9. Dinner (in addition to the Kiri Tanpo pot, side dishes and Akita local sake are included) (On the third day, we will take you to a place of your choice) 1. Breakfast (bread or rice) 2. As time permits, we will guide you to nearby scenic spots and places of your choice. For example, blacksmiths, secret waterfalls, walking in the beech forest, Moriyoshiyama trekking, etc. (About the facilities of the accommodation) Feel free to use the Japanese-style toilet, washstand, kitchenette, and hearth. Guest access The nearest station to the inn is the Akita Inland Line, Animaeda Onsen Station (about 5 km). From Tokyo Station, it takes about 2 hours to arrive by transferring at JR Kakunodate Station. There is a free shuttle (about 10 minutes by car), so please let me know if you would like to use it. Odate Airport is in the same city. This is about an hour from Tokyo, so it is less tiring and convenient. Rest assured, we will pick you up and drop you off at the airport for free. If you come by private car or rental car, there is free parking space in front of the inn, so please use it. During your stay I am usually on the same property during guest stays. I won't actively talk to you, but please feel free to ask me anything. Other things to note This is a cashless inn. You can also purchase toothbrushes, laundry detergent, etc., but we ask that you pay by credit card or electronic money. Because it is an old house built in 1948, there is dirt and odor that does not come off during cleaning. Also, it is a Japanese-style toilet with a pump. Please be aware. It would be helpful if you could come with the feeling of staying at a mountain hut. In addition, I think it is a harsh environment for those who don't like insects and reptiles. We do not accept reservations in August, October, and April-May because there are so many insects. Please contact us if you would like us to guide you. It is separated from our family's living space at the entrance, so you can use it almost like a private rental. We have 7-Eleven 1 Day Leisure Insurance for outdoor experiences. (Injury and death insurance: 2 million yen, temporary insurance at the time of injury hospitalization: 60,000 yen, daily life liability insurance: 100 million yen, etc.) * In the event of an accident or other health issues, we may cancel the reservation and issue a refund to each group.
