Perfect village base, explore the Hampshire downs

Welcome to The Bails, where the pace of life is slow and there are plenty of rural friends to meet such as our friendly cat, dog and our horses. Our accommodation, separate from our house is converted in to a functional overnight for professionals or a base for a weekend get away. Our views extend over sprawling grassland and our own garden plus in the summer the village cricket makes the perfect sound to help enjoy a gin and tonic. Separate private garden and plenty of parking. The space Hi, I’m Julia thanks for taking the time to read about us. My Husband and 2 children would love to host you at our home. We are a very outdoor family and often found at home in our garden or with our animals. The Bails is a newly converted space with modern facilities ready for a business stay or a weekend break. Our property is small and self contained and doesn’t overlook our own house so you’ll feel private and away from the rest of the family. It has everything to cater for a long term let to a short stay of course and we are happy to hear if you have any specific requests. We’re super close to AWE, 6 miles from Basingstoke centre and 12 miles from Newbury. We offer secure off road parking. Explore the Harrow way on foot or maybe take to 2 wheels. Our area is very popular with cyclists, the village of Hannington nearby is a great base for rides, circular walks and also stunning views as the highest point in Hampshire. If you’d like to eat we also have the Wellington Arms nearby in Baughurst which is a great place to try. Guest access Our guests have a garden area attached to the entrance of the Bails with a bench they can use to watch the sun go down. Sometimes Deer come and graze the field next door at dusk and the property overlooks them. We have a small stable block the opposite side of our main house and whilst you are welcome to say hello to our ponies, we respectfully request you don’t enter the yard or our field. This is out of bounds. Other things to note The Bails is above our garage and whilst we will always try to avoid using it whilst you are with us, please forgive the odd door opening for access*. For example I’m sure you can appreciate a sharp looking lawn just as much as us. *This really only applies to long term stays. We are next to our village cricket square and it makes a hot summers day quintessentially English. Our secure off road parking is behind an electric gate which closes permanently at night. If you’re heading back late or leaving super early we can let you know how to get in or out. We have plenty of mobile phone signal on all networks and good WiFi.
