Secluded Hillside Hideaway

Our Airbnb Guesthouse is perched on a hillside surrounded by trees & ferns creating a private, tranquil rural setting. Deer, turkeys & other local wildlife occasionally come to visit. The location is ideal for quiet walks, jogging & bike-riding. It's close to Ricketts Glen State Park's hiking trails & other scenic areas. There is a firepit for guests to use during the evening hours. (Wood is provided.) While, inside the guesthouse, a Wifi system is available for guests' use. The space Outside Space: At the end of a large yard, lawn chairs surround a large firepit that was built from local fieldstone. At night, when the firepit is lit with flames reaching for the stars, if offers a peaceful ambience. (Hosts furnish the firewood.) If guests want a fresh-air dining experience, the Airbnb has a pavillion that is furnished with a picnic table, gas grill & outdoor chairs. Also, on the covered porch is a table & chairs for morning coffee or night time drink. There are also other chairs provided. The Pavillion is connected to a two vehicle carport so that guests don't have to worry about weather issues as they make their way to the Airbnb Guesthouse entrance. Inside Space: The first things guests notice when entering the Guesthouse are the spacious rooms that are decorated with repurposed old & new furnishings to provide a relaxing, homey atmosphere. Cleanliness is extremely important, so guests will find every surface hygienically spotless. The kitchen offers all the needed amenities guests would need to cook a good meal & set a nice table. Keurig coffee pods, regular brewing coffee, tea, hot chocolate & all the condiments to go with them are also available. The living room has a comfortable couch that folds out into a Queen size bed. We have guests who prefer a simplified, technology-free experience, so we provide a TV with a connecting Blue Ray DVD player & a shelving unit filled with over 80 DVD movies. Puzzles, board games, drawing tools and such can be found in the TV cabinet. Also, there is a book shelf in the living room and bedroom with books from many different authors if you love to read. The bathroom & bedroom are also spacious areas for relaxation. The bathroom harbors a lounging tub( jets are on sabbatical ), a separate shower, toilet and a repurposed bedroom bureau that was turned into a bathroom sink cabinet. Items such as soap, shampoo, towels, washcloths, toilet paper, paper towels and other necessities are available. We also have "buckets" filled with items that guests might have forgotten to bring. As for the bedroom, two comfortable queen-size beds with shutters as headboards grace this large room. A closet, bureau, antique sewing machine desk, extra blankets, antique trunk & end tables complete the bedroom décor. And, finally, communication is important to everyone. As a bonus, we have the modern convenience of a WIFI/Internet system. We have upgraded it to EERO, a TrueMesh WIFI system that works fast and effectively. EERO's reliability is --so far--the best Wireless choice for our rural region area. Guest access Guests have solo access to the Airbnb Guesthouse, Airbnb Pavillion and Carport. Guests share space--backyard, front yard & driveway-- with the Hosts. And as Hosts, when guests are using shared space like the backyard, we tend to make ourselves scarce to respect our guests' privacy. Our two dogs-- Maddie, a golden retriever, and Lulu, the "talkative" Yorkshire pup--do need to be taken out for walks or "bodily relief missions" during the day and once at night. These may be the few times guests may see the hosts in these shared area. Other things to note The Foyer is an ample room that allows for secondary exits for the Guesthouse and Main House.
