A bright spacious 1st floor, 1 bedroom flat, on the River Severn just across from Shrewsbury Town centre, that is minutes away on foot. This private, comfortable and calm space enjoys natural light throughout the day. Enjoy the local pub with river views and alfresco dining. Our Coleham high street has an independent coffee shop and greengrocer along with a Spar, butcher and a variety of take aways, within a 2 minute walk. The layout and facilities make this an ideal long term rental as well. The space Enter a private entrance at street level, and up a flight of carpeted stairs to the flat level. At the top of the stairs is a large modern fully fitted kitchen with a dining area for two. An open doorway leads through to a comfortable living room with a sofa and arm chair. There is also a work space with a small desk, lamp with USB charging port, and chair. Smart TV (43 inch) Freeview channels along with access to Netflix Amazon Prime Apple TV Hulu Disney + depending on your subscriptions, WiFi is good throughout the flat. There are some board games, books, and reading material on the local area. The bathroom, off the sitting room, has a large shower with a hand basin and toilet. The bedroom is accessed down a short open passage from the living room. Furnished with a king size bed, wardrobe with hanging space, a dressing table/chest of drawers, mirror and curtained windows on two sides. Great river view from the bed. The kitchen window faces south east and gets lovely morning sun. The rest of the flat is south west facing and gets afternoon and evening sun. The Loft offers snapshot views of the river and it's avenue of lime trees. The bedroom windows and most of the sitting room windows have block-out blinds. Guest access The Loft is just across the River Severn via Greyfriars footbridge from the centre of medieval Shrewsbury Town. The town and local facilities are very accessible on foot. Shrewsbury train station is a 15 minute (0.7 mile) walk across town, or it can be accessed using a local taxi service There is free on-street parking in the area of the flat, but not outside the property. There is pay parking at the Council Car Park just across the river. (5min 0.2 Mile) Other things to note The local commercial centre (1 min, 150 yds) has a well stocked Spar supermarket with an ATM and Costa coffee machine, House Coffee shop, green grocer, a new butchery, gift shops, numerous take-aways, deli, barbers and hairdressers, a florist as well as a specialist cycle shop . Once you have crossed the Greyfriars Pedestrian Bridge, built in 1879, you will be in Shrewsbury town, birthplace of Charles Darwin. The amazing architecture in medieval Shrewsbury include 660 listed buildings. From the Castle, Museums, Cathedral and library, to a modern award winning Indoor Market and a cosy cinema housed in the Old Market Hall. Coffee Shops, Restaurants, traditional Pubs and vibey bars abound in the town centre within the old town walls, and there are always the beautiful Dingle and Quarry gardens to admire just across the river. All are within walking distance of the flat. The Severn River, the longest river in the UK, and its surroundings provides one with an enormous array of activities and experiences. Besides river walks, there are opportunities to row, kayak, paddleboard, take a river cruise on the Sabrina boat from Victoria Key, or chill out at a riverside pub. Shrewsbury hosts an annual Folk Festival, RHS Flower Show, Food Festival, Rock Concert and numerous sporting , artistic, music and cultural events. Lists of events and activities are readily available at the Tourist Centre in the town square. PARKING You can pull up outside the flat to load/offload, but would then need to park up somewhere. LIMITED TIME FREE: There is 1 hour free parking (no limit overnight or on Sundays) - opposite The Coleham Tap pub (ex Crown) in Longden Coleham. There is 3 hour free parking (no limit overnight or on Sundays) - in Longden Coleham, 50 metres to the right as you exit the flat. For UNLIMITED FREE on street parking, try - Longden Coleham outside the Pengwern Court (to the right up the hill) - Lime Street - Bellevue Gardens - Raby Crescent. For PAY PARKING: - St Julian Friars Car Park (SY1 1XL) just across the river over the pedestrian bridge is operated by MIPermit (download App) (Location Number: 740006) - Abbey Foregate Car Park (SY2 6AH) (Location Number: 740005). Abbey Foregate is half the price of St Julians Friar and has FREE Sunday parking. Parking between 6pm and 8am at both locations is FREE. Refer to Shropshire Council website for updated information.
