Located in the Mahoning Commons neighborhood, a growing artist and theater district. The studio is situated in a late 19th century former city school, now home to the Calvin Center for the Arts. We are a multi purpose facility that has a gymnasium and theater company. The studio is located on the 2nd floor, nestled away, it is the perfect place to relax and take in the vast amenities of Youngstown. Close proximity to I-680, walking distance to downtown, YSU and Mill Creek Park. The multipurpose studio is open with large windows and a light minimalist loft design. The studio features old school house details with a chalk board and traditional wood work and built ins. The studio includes a private bathroom and coffee bar. Coffee bar coffee maker and tea options a small fridge/freezer, and microwave, convection/toaster oven air fryer, and instant pot for cooking/heating options. Common areas such as hallways, side yard and front yard. I am available for my guests, if any issues should arise during your stay, reach out and will be happy to address any questions. I am typically on site most days and some evenings, but can always be reached by phone or Airbnb messages. We are a transitioning former industrial neighborhood close to downtown. For almost 30 years, a developing artist community started utilizing the buildings of the neighborhood. Artists of the Rust Belt and other groups have multiple shows and open studio events to highlight the craftsmanship and art of this district. We are located .75 miles away from the Youngstown’s downtown and 1 mile to YSU campus. Walking, biking, taxi, Uber, Lyft and even pedicab options are possible. Similar distance to mill creek park for nature hikes and outdoor activities. WRTA local transit has a stop across from our building. Driving may be necessary for other further distances to near by cities and suburbs. We are a large facility that have additional tenants and guests, please be respectful to others use of the space. We try to maintain quiet hours from 11 pm to 8 am to help keep all happy.
