📍 EL CUBIL EN POTRERO CHICO is located 55 minutes from the city of Monterrey El Cubil is a modern hostel just a 5-minute walk from the gates of El Potrero Chico Park, the internationally renowned rock climbing area in the state of Nuevo León. The space The cylindrical rooms are on the mountain. Upon arrival at the facility, staff will assist you in getting to the room in a 4x4 vehicle. The room has air conditioning for added comfort and guests can stay connected with free WiFi. -The Cubil is fortunate to have its fauna very close to us so it is likely that you will get to see raccoons, skunks, wild boars, foxes, cacomixtle or rintel. We ask you to respect them and their habitat. We also ask you not to approach them or feed them and if you need to make noise try to scare them away. Guest access El Cubil is a few steps from El Potrero Chico Park and restaurants. We also have at least two of the Potrero Chico cliffs with access within our property, including the famous Sendero Luminoso route. Hiking trails, access to the road to the "Plutonia" cave, access to the road to the "El Tarta" mine. Other things to note Our guests share a spacious, modern, and fully equipped kitchen with a dining room and ample space to socialize with other guests. This high-ceiling building has lower windows overlooking the courtyard and upper windows revealing the Potrero Chico mountains. The kitchen faucets have hot water. Purified drinking water is provided. An area of the kitchen-dining building is reserved as a relaxed and informal space to socialize with other guests. This area includes a wall-mounted TV. We recommend bringing all kinds of snacks, drinks and food that you want to consume during your stay. El Cubil in Potrero Chico promotes local consumption: Shops in the town of Hidalgo Nuevo León that are 3 km from El Cubil: -OXXO: convenience store. -La Mexicana Carnicería: a supermarket where you can use a US or Canadian credit card. -Street market on Tuesdays. -Restaurants that are a 5-minute walk from El Cubil: Checo's (dinner), La antojaría (late dinner), La Posada, El Crux (dinner), Taco loco, Las Azucenas (dinner). -Restaurants within a 10-minute walk: Leo's Tacos (dinner). *As an exclusive service for our guests, we can meet you at Monterrey Airport (MTY) when your flight arrives and take you to El Cubil. The price of this extra service is $1,100 MXN. If you wish to purchase this service, we will need your arrival flight number, the MTY terminal you will arrive at, and your flight arrival time.
