Frida's Field Cottage

Located on an idyllic 120-acre farm with uninterrupted views of rolling green hills. It's the perfect base to explore the Byron Bay hinterland - Bangalow is just 10-minutes drive away, Byron Bay a further 10-minutes on, and all the most popular destinations are within 25-minutes. The Cottage is a renovated 1890s coach house that is beautifully appointed, combining rustic charm with quality finishes. Be sure to check out the new restaurant Frida's Field that is opening on the same property. The space The Cottage is a recently renovated 1890s coach house, with stunning cathedral ceiling, rough-hewn exposed beams, and polished floorboards. A magnificent two meter-square northeast-facing window fills the open-planned space with natural light and sweeping countryside views. Its rustic charm is enhanced with quality fittings and modern conveniences. The chef’s kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a gourmet meal using the region’s incredible fresh produce and artisan products. The Cottage is beautifully appointed with a mix of antiques and modern pieces, plus luxury bedding, linen and towels. In addition to a queen-sized bed, there is a Danish designed couch which converts into a comfortable double bed and extra linen can be provided upon request. Enjoy a barbeque under the spectacular old fig tree, or cuddle up in front of the fireplace. Feel free to pack a picnic and stroll around the farm - there are many beautiful spots to relax. If you enjoy fishing, bring a rod and catch some Bass or Perch on the property at the confluence of Byron Creek and Wilsons River. The Cottage is completely self-contained and private, with an uninterrupted outlook. It really feels like your own little home in the country. Frida’s Field offers contemporary country dining that celebrates the seasons and our ecological farming practices. Guest access The entire cottage and surrounding garden is available for guest use. Feel free to pack a picnic and stroll around the farm - there are many beautiful spots to relax. Other things to note Laundry If you need to do laundry during your stay, a washing machine, dryer and drying rack are provided under the house near the car park. Powder and pegs are also provided. BBQ A BabyQ Weber BBQ is stored under the house next to the laundry near the car park. Please bring it out onto the lawn in front of the cottage when you wish to use it and return it afterwards. Fireplace Please take care when using the fireplace – it is made from cast iron and gets very hot when running. Ensure that the door to the fireplace is always securely closed when you are not placing wood inside it and that the safety screen is always erected in front of the fireplace. Never place items on top of the fireplace or let items touch or lean against its sides. The vents at the bottom of the fireplace control its temperature – when they are fully open the fire is hottest and when they are closed the fire is coolest. If you are going to be away from the cottage please ensure that the fire is either completely or almost extinguished and close the vents at the bottom of the fireplace fully before leaving. Firewood and kindling are provided - please let us know if you require more during your stay. A fire extinguisher is located in the cupboard under the sink. Call us immediately if there is a fire related problem (0434-497-117 or 0403-867-679). Cleaning The Cottage should be left essentially as you found it. We understand that it will become 'lived in' during your stay, but leaving it in an outright mess will incur additional charges. Beds and furniture should not be moved from the location you find them in. There should be no dirty dishes in the kitchen – please use the dishwasher and dishwashing powder located under the sink. We allow 3 hours for a clean after each stay, additional time spent cleaning will be charged at $75 + gst per hour. To help keep to the 3-hour cleaning budget it is of great help if you are able to strip the bed of dirty linen. Registration Details PID-STRA-51846
