Range Rd., (Embassy Row) is lined with embassies two of which are our immediate neighbors in the back (including Russian, Venezuelan and Moroccan). Pack a picnic and walk 4 minutes to Strathcona Park where children can be seen playing in its sand castle and swings, as well there are ducks, a pairs of swans, Canada geese, turtles, and egrets. In the winter you might catch a glimpse of a cross country skier or two. While at the park, stroll along the Rideau River, or walk to the park's entrance on Laurier Avenue and make a wish at the fountain. There are more embassies on Laurier but almost directly across the street is the famous Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute. You will need to make advance reservations for lunch or dinner there. Turn left on Laurier to dine indoors or out at Working Title. BTW: The 2nd stop light that is around the corner from the Russian Embassy is Rideau St. which becomes Wellington St. (Direction West...i.e. left turn), address of the Senate & Parliament, Library & Archives and the Bank of Canada. At the far end of Strathcona Park you can cross Ottawa's newest foot-bridge and enter Vanier...the French Quarter ....which just happens to have a restaurant (The Bridge), tennis court, swimming pool and a gym at the other end of the foot bridge almost crow flies east of your unit. A Loblaws supermarket is a left and a right a few streets over. Back on "home" side, check out UOttawa campus or go on an Embassy Hunt. There are many different "mini districts" within Sandy Hill home of many Statesmen, Prime Ministers and senior civil servants, and Marlborough Avenue is well known, well loved and well situated in the Russell to Range Road Heritage District. Alexander Yakovlev - so-called 'Godfather of Glasnost' lived in Sandy Hill, and an infamous Russian spy is reputed to have lived right here at #77-79 Marlborough Avenue.😳 We have a rich history in an excellent location on a quiet street, and home-like dwelling - lucky us. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ PRICING: Extra Charges - Reserve one parking spot/booking in the driveway at $10/night - 2 nights minimum, $50 flat fee for 5-days+ stay.
