Charming Historic Adobe Guest House- Jacuzzi Tub!
Description
This warm and welcoming guest house, recently renovated while still retaining its classic, traditional New Mexican charm provides a positively memorable stay, as the house and surrounding area inspires tranquility. The atmosphere is one of a kind and the enchantment is all around, with incredible nature in every direction, you’re minutes from some of the best hiking and outdoor activities in the US. This area has a wonderful mix of forest and desert all in close proximity. The space This is an original adobe home unique to New Mexico with parts of the house being over 200 years old (including the original wooden floors). These trusted, old Southwestern building techniques give the house an authentic rustic aesthetic and durability that is somewhat of a rarity these days. The historical look and feel of the space with its modern amenities, all lend to its character and convenience to give you a unique stay in New Mexico. Enjoy the beautiful hardwood floors, ornate tiles, and vigas, the large bathroom with its luxurious, comfortable jacuzzi tub to wind down and relax in, and a spacious kitchen with its easy to cook-and-eat in set up. Handcrafted and hand painted details are sprinkled throughout each room, and all of the rooms get great natural light, yet the casita is set back well enough to give guests plenty of privacy. The bedroom has a medium firm king sized memory foam mattress with organic cotton linens and cozy duvet. The living room has a day bed in place of a traditional couch to provide extra sleeping space, which is great for travelers who would prefer not to share one bed. The front porch, equipped with seating to lounge in, string lights, and a perimeter of curated stones and plants, is a great place to read, watch the sunset and hummingbirds, or just be. There is parking and access to the house in front and back as well. Last but not least, about a 3 minute walk from the guest house, is Ranchos De Taos Plaza. In the plaza there is the San Francisco de Asís Mission Church. This big historic church is a landmark, hand built using Adobe, it is quite an outstanding structure. It is uniquely shaped with a combination of tall, round and angled sides. Being in and near it feels like traveling back in time as it has been totally preserved. Inside it is peaceful, quiet, and decorated in a way which represents the culture that developed here. Also in the plaza, there is a New Mexican restaurant, fondly and regularly attended by locals and visitors alike. The short trip to the Plaza makes for a pleasant and informative afternoon. Guest access Guests have access to the full front of the property. This includes a large front yard with parking right in front of the guest house. We ask that you do not go into the backyard of the property as this is for the tenants of the other house on the property. Other things to note Due to the time period which this house was built, the ceilings are much lower than a standard constructed home and at their lowest point they are 6.5ft tall, so this house may not be comfortable for very tall individuals. Note: the house does share a wall with the main house but the units are completely separate. Additionally the house uses a gas fireplace as the main heating source. This fireplace works very well but does get extremely hot on the outside and is a hazard for small children. The bathroom door also does not latch so the deep bathtub is a child hazard. Due to the multiple safety concerns, we do not allow travelers with children to stay at the property.
