Go back in time in this lovingly remodeled Norfolk & Western Caboose Car complete with a queen size bed, sleeper sofa, table for two, and bathroom. This unique and unforgettable B&B provides a complimentary breakfast, mountain beauty, 4+ miles of hiking trails, and many other outdoor areas to be enjoyed by our guests. All proceeds go to support Apple Ridge Farm a non-profit with a mission of Helpings Kids Grow! Please Note: Caboose 3 is a No Pet Rental. Our other 2 cabooses are pet friendly. The space This charming remodeled Caboose B&B makes the sweetest home away from home stocked with a variety of amenities to help make your stay complete. The main room has a breakfast area complete with mini frig, microwave, coffee maker and toaster so you can enjoy your complimentary breakfast at your leisure in your own room. This main room also has a very comfortable queen sized bed and a futon which folds out into a double sized bed so that 4 guests can stay here. Last, but not least, this caboose has a very spacious bathroom with hair dryer, toiletries, first aid kit, and a large shower stall to help make this stay absolutely wonderful. Please note that there may be events occurring at our main buildings down the mountain from the cabooses during your stay. By staying at our Bed and Breakfast you are helping support Apple Ridge Farm's non-profit work of Helping Kids Grow! We offer a variety of educational programs and we are a rental venue for weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats, birthday parties, and more. Since 1978, Apple Ridge Farm has been a 501 c3 nonprofit organization providing environmental education and summer camp experiences, field trip programs, and afterschool programs for more than 80,000 youth, many from inner-city neighborhoods and public housing projects. Guest access Location: Apple Ridge Farm's beautiful rural 96-acre education and retreat center is located in Copper Hill, VA Floyd County, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains which affords visitors exposure to the beauty and prestige of SW Virginia's natural charm. We are located in a rural setting with lots of countryside charm and natural habitats. Onsite Activities: There are 4+ miles of hiking trails on our property for guests to enjoy as well as tennis & basketball courts, pickle ball court, ball field, horseshoe pit, fire pit located at our ball field, and a picnic table area. Onsite Driving Conditions: Apple Ridge Farm is located on mountainous terrain which has a 1 mile driveway through its property. It is a 1/2 mile drive on our gravel road through our property to get up to where the cabooses are located. AWD and 4WD vehicles are recommended, but not required to get to the cabooses. Please note that low-riding vehicles such as sports cars may have difficulty getting to the caboose area. Other things to note Caboose 3 is a Smoke Free and No Pets rental. |Smoking is permitted outdoors. For guests traveling with pets, we recommend Caboose #1 and Caboose #2 as well as our Starr's House Lodge which are all Pet Friendly. Caboose #1 sleeps 4 people, Caboose #2 sleeps 2 people, and our Lodge B&B Suite sleeps 6 people.
