Description
Beautiful and cozy family house, west of two glaciers with approximately one and a half hour drive from Reykjavik. The house is situated in South of Iceland in the midst of stunning nature. Retreat by the fireplace or watch the stars and sometimes the Northern lights from the patio. Enjoy the breathtaking views from the glass window in our homey cabin or wonder around exploring the natural wonders surrounding you – You won’t fall short of options! The space The house is a two floor villa with a total of 165 square meters having two bedrooms on the lower floor and two bedrooms on the upper floor. If more than 4 beds are needed a sleeping couch is available in the upper living room. A small bed for a toddler can also be made available. The house includes two bathrooms. One standard on the upper floor and on the lower floor is a bathroom with a nice shower, washing machine and a dryer. The kitchen is equipped with all the important necessities, including an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave and a coffee machine to make you feel at home. Upstairs you can also find a living-room with a TV and a balcony which catches the sun in the morning. In winter during clear skies the Northern lights can be seen from Múlakot. The amazing “sky play” the Northern Lights can put on leaves a lifetime memory for everyone. LOCATION The house’ location allows you to explore many of Iceland’s greatest natural wonders, including Seljalandsfoss, Skógarfoss, Þórsmörk, Nauthúsagil, Paradísarhellir, to name a few. Only 20 minutes away is the ferry that takes you to Westman Islands. It is worth considering a day trip to these incredible islands as it offers you impressive views and all sorts of fun activities. Within a 1-2 hour drive you can explore the famous Golden Circle, Reynisfjara or hike the Reykjadalur to relax in one of its cozy hot springs. Looking to the east from where the house is situated you have a view over two glaciers. One is the famous volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull that erupted 2011 and the other Mýrdalsjökull that erupted 1918. Between those glaciers you look into one of Iceland most famous natural wonders, called Þórsmörk where endless of beautiful hiking trails and natural scenery can be found. With a good 4x4 SUV the drive to Þórsmörk is approximately 50 minutes. Turning to the north you have a view over the country hill called Fljótshlíð.
