Description
We are excited to be offering Oak House for guests to visit. Once called the Garden of Lancashire, Leyland is a beautiful area with easy access to the Lakes, Bowland Fells, Rivington Pike, and seaside towns of Blackpool, Southport and Morecambe Bay. It is also a short distance from Manchester and Liverpool. With the indoor wood stove, new kitchen and bathroom, oak furniture, outdoor fire pit and garden overlooking a park, we hope you’ll find this a fantastic getaway. The space Oak House is a semi-detached home on a quiet residential street, backing onto a park, less than 3 mins from the M6 exit, and near the M65 and M61. It is easy to find, with good on-street and off-street parking. The home has been in our family for three decades, but has been recently renovated with a brand new kitchen and bathroom. The house is finished to a high standard, with sanded redwood floors, a beautiful indoor wood-burning stove, oak and wood furniture, and a well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious and warm, with new beds and mattresses. We hope you’ll find all you need for a comfortable stay. There are gardens front and back, and a gated driveaway making this a safe space for children and dogs. The patio doors in the kitchen lead to a back garden which is fully enclosed, so it is safe to let large and small dogs off the lead. We are ourselves dog lovers, so pets are welcome at no extra charge. The house overlooks Balcarres Green, which is a great little park for families and dog walkers. We will be happy to give any advice or help to make your stay perfect. Guest access Oak House is well-located, while maintaining the feel of a quiet leafy avenue. At the end of the road is a Tesco express and Chinese/fish n chips takeaway. It is easy walking distance to pubs, bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, swimming baths, and the award-winning Worden Park (also nominated the UK’s Best Park). There is a McDonalds within 5 mins walk, and all the big supermarkets (Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Lidl) are within a short walk or drive from the house. It is simply two turns from the Junction 28 on the M6, making it very accessible and easy to find. When you book, you’ll be given the code for the keybox and everything will be ready for your arrival. We now live in East Yorkshire, so changeovers are managed by Lynn, our sister who lives in Leyland, and she is always on hand for any immediate needs. We are also easily contactable at any time. Other things to note For the High Season in the summer holidays, we are currently offering bookings from Saturday to Saturday with a minimum of 7 nights stay. This helps us to manage the busy season more easily.
