The apartment is located in a private house on the ground floor in a residential neighborhood. There are two entrances to the apartment (in the front and back of house). There is access to the backyard and a small patio. The apartment is spacious and comfortable with kitchen and bathroom amenities. The neighborhood is a historic neighborhood with lovely houses and a large forest park a block away. The access into Manhattan is quick and easy. The owner lives upstairs and is available if needed. There are two large bedrooms with a bathroom in between. There is an open plan kitchen which looks into the living/dining room. Linens and kitchen appliances are provided along with bathroom amenities such as shampoos etc. There will be a stock of toilet paper and amenities for the beginning of the stay but they will not be restocked for longer stays unless requested for a fee. The apartment is professionally cleaned before arrival and will not be cleaned during the stay unless requested for additional cost. We are happy to provide a vacuum cleaner and swiffer upon request. The owner lives in the upstairs apartment and is available if need be. There is a large park one block away called Forest Park which has long trails and a track field with sports courts about 15 minute walk away. There are nice restaurants and cafes on Austin Street which is about 30 minute walk through the park and Forest Hills or 10 minutes by car/ 15 minutes public transport. There is also a historic ice cream shop called Eddie's Sweet Shop about 15 minutes walk away or a short car ride/bus ride away. Richmond Hill is a historic neighborhood with an interesting history. There are many public transportation options from the house depending on your destination. There is the J train 4 blocks away, which will get you into Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan. In addition to the J, there are the E and F trains, which can be reached via J train or but a short bus ride to Kew Gardens. The E and F will get you into Midtown Manhattan and then to downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn. The LIRR is also located about 15 minutes walking distance which can take you to Manhattan or Long Island. The walk to Kew Gardens station is a nice walk as it can be done by walking through the park. I would not advise walking through the park at night, but throughout the day it is very pleasant.
