Little Church at Edge of the Otways

Nestled between tall gums and framed by dairy farms this converted Church is a darling of the Otway Hinterland. Just moments from the Otway Food Trail, wineries, mountain bike trails, kayaking, fishing and bushwalking tracks, the Little Church is a convenient and central base to access the joys of the region - and there is plenty to do and see! Nearby townships offer quaint pubs and markets. While The Great Ocean Road and Beach side towns are within easy reach. The space The Church is spacious, yet cosy, with three zones. The lounge has high ceilings and draped in soft pastel light sifting through the coloured glass windows. It has a wood-fire, wifi enabled television with Netflix, DVD player and stereo system with a library of CD’s, DVD’s and board games. The kitchenette has a charming blackwood bench and pressed metal splash-back. It contains a single electric hot-plate for cooking and microwave oven, toaster, sandwich press, kettle and pod coffee machine with biodegradable coffee pods. It has a bar fridge with sandwich-sized freezer space and double sink. In the generous bathroom you’ll enjoy a soak in the luxurious claw foot, iron bathtub (bath soak is provided) or a warm shower and the convenience of a wall heater and hair dryer. After a day of shopping, hiking, fishing and mountain bike riding this is the perfect room to soak your muscles and relax! Up the quaint ladder into the loft you’ll find a Queen bed with a Medium-Firm mattress under the feature Art Nouveau stained-glass window. As there are no curtains in the bedroom you’ll enjoy the misty glimmer of stars while laying in bed. Eye-masks are provided for a good nights sleep should you need them. Outside on the deck there’s a Weber kettle BBQ and an outdoor setting where you can relax and enjoy the private yard. Evenings can be spent around the fire pit to share tall tales, roasted marshmallows and the opportunities for star gazing between the 100 year old gum trees that pillar the little Church. Take a walk to the local tennis courts (250 meters away) to have a hit with the racquets provided or play darts, coits or bow and arrows (all provided). This is a place of romance, beauty and the mysticism of history. You can imagine the community gatherings of years past, which you can see in the etchings in the Baltic pine floorboards. Recently the Little Church has been a place where guests have become engaged, shared special couple's occassions and weddings. Staying at the Little Church is an experience that won’t easily be forgotten! Guest access Guests will enjoy exclusive access to the Church with contact-free check-in at their leisure. The small yard boasts a fire pit, native garden and views to the Otway ranges and nearby working cattle farms. Other things to note The Church is a historic building and includes a steep staircase to the loft bedroom. This would not be suitable for the mobility impaired. Due to the proximity to the road this venue is unsuitable for children and pets.
