Our historic Cottage provides a cozy and comfortable mountain getaway experience in beautiful Index, Washington. With quick access to Stevens Pass Mountain Resort, and just over 1 hour to Seattle (or east to Leavenworth), it is the perfect destination for exploring the scenic beauty and outdoor recreation of the Skykomish Valley. Located adjacent to the historic Bush House Inn (with 10 addtl guestrooms), the Cottage is 1 block from the General Store, post office, coffee shop, playground & park! The space Our cozy cottage has been tastefully updated to be a comfortable space for resting and relaxing. The living room and kitchen have raised ceilings, the floors and ceilings are beautifully refinished reclaimed wood, and we have decorated with simple furnishings and accessories to help you feel right at home. Whether you come to relax or play we're ready for you! Featuring a washer/dryer (with soap) for cleaning your adventure-wear, a covered front porch for your boots and gear, and a full kitchen for preparing a hearty breakfast to start your day, the cottage makes it easy to enjoy all that the area has to offer - no matter what your activity choice! Cottage includes 1-bedroom with comfy queen bed, living room with couch and armchair, kitchen with microwave/refrigerator/oven/stovetop/dishes/cookware/coffee maker, 1 full bathroom accessed from the bedroom (with claw-foot tub/shower combo), washer/dryer, wireless internet, smart TV for access to your Netflix account, and local maps & guides for planning your adventures! A small bonus loft (accessible by ladder) provides a cozy space with 2 twin beds; this area is suitable for teens & adults comfortable with ladders and LOW ceilings. The adjacent Bush House Inn offers 10 additional guest rooms and two event spaces suitable for weddings, reunions, meetings, performances, etc. Learn more on the Bush House Inn website. We are located in-town on a quiet road, but do sit near the railroad tracks (less than 1 block). The cottage is not far from where the Index train stop was historically located, and if train-watching is your thing then you've come to the right place. Be sure to drop by the Bush House Inn lobby to check out a history book on the area! Guest access Each season offers its own unique outdoor adventure opportunities! Rafting (guide service around the corner at the Outdoor Adventure Center), fishing on the Skykomish River, rock climbing at the Index Town Walls, kayaking and hiking are popular during the summer and fall; and nearby mountain snowsports at Stevens Pass Mountain Resort during the winter months. Guided rafting trips and E-bike rentals can be arranged through the Outdoor Adventure Center (see website) or in the Bush House Inn lobby. Other things to note The Cottage is 30-60 minutes to Stevens Pass Mountain Resort (depends on road/snow conditions and traffic), 1-2 hour drive east to Leavenworth or 1-2 hours west to Seattle. Remember to make your reservations for skiing and boarding at Stevens Pass Resort before heading up! Several easy to moderate hikes are located in the area, including Snohomish County's newest park - Heybrook Ridge County Park (trailhead is within walking distance of the Cottage). The Index Town Wall, Lake Serene, Bridalveil Falls and Wallace Falls are other popular nearby hiking destinations.
