Cozy refuge perfect for couples. Situated off a scenic byway (13 miles to Bellingham, 38 miles to Mt. Baker Nat'l Wilderness) our proximity to the North Cascades, San Juan Islands & Canada, make us a great jumping off point for your next adventure. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or an Urbanite in search of night life & the perfect brew, be it coffee or beer, we welcome you! We're sorry but due to allergies we can't accommodate pets. We built the Nest with our guests comfort in mind: king size bed with memory foam mattress, full size kitchen appliances, a washer and dryer for your use, (just bring your detergent) a private patio complete with fire pit and a cozy upper deck just perfect for that morning cup of coffee. There is also a comfortable sitting area with plenty of light, shelves lined with books and games, large screen Roku TV, & continuous free wifi, providing you with things to do if you just want to stay in and relax. The studio apartment was built over our garage, with its own private keyless entry. You will have all the privacy you need to come and go as you please! Our location with its close proximity to the mountains, the ocean, the country or the city, provides the perfect jumping off point to your next adventure! As guests of The Robyn's Nest you will have your own parking space in our well lit driveway. While we do not have an EV charger, we do have external outlets with 220, which our guests with electric cars have utilized. You have full access to the ground level private patio complete with camp chairs and a gas fire pit. The upper deck is also private -- the perfect place for morning contemplation or watching the sunset. The apartment is attached to our house but is completely private and self contained. We live on site and will hopefully be able to greet you upon arrival. You might get to meet our dog Coop then too, (or hear him bark hello) (but no worries, he's not allowed to roam free) We are always available via a text if you have any issues or questions but we value privacy both yours and ours so you can relax and enjoy your stay. Deming may not be what you would call a destination spot; it is a rural town situated just off a scenic highway, but we think the Nest is the perfect little refuge on your way to adventure! Logging and Agriculture are a big part of the culture. Deming has a post office, library, two gas stations/convenience stores, a liquor store and is home to the Mt. Baker School District and the Nooksack Indian Tribe. We are just 13 miles from Bellingham where you can find plenty of amenities but our local countryside has several small coffee shops and restaurants. You will need a vehicle to take advantage of things to do but there is a bus stop within walking distance with service to Bellingham and other areas of Whatcom County. We supply enough coffee, tea and light snacks to cover a 1-2 night stay. We have good drinking water. The kitchen has a full size fridge, stove and microwave. Toaster, Coffee makers (kuerig & french press) cooking and serving utensils and dishes are also provided. The Nest has a ductless heat pump which provides both heat and ac as needed. if we know your eta we can preset the system to meet your needs. Deming is a rural little town just off a scenic byway known to the locals as the Mt. Baker Highway. There's a high school nearby and from our upper deck you can see the schools athletic field. Occasionally you may hear a train as the Burlington Northern Railroad is about a quarter mile away. There is a restaurant a stone's throw from our home. Several other cafes and coffee shops are within close driving distance. The nearest grocery store is just 3 miles away so you'll be able to easily pick up things you need. We do have Wi-Fi and cell service. Also provided is a more detailed booklet of places to eat, things to see and do.
