Only 15 minutes by bike to the free ferry boat opposite Amsterdam Central Station, 11 minutes by car/Uber to the City Centre through the IJ-tunnel and located at a few minutes from the A10 round way. Also 11 minutes by car /Uber to IJplein from where you can take the free Ferry to the city center. You can get to the subway station in 10 minutes by bus and from there in another 5 or 10 minutes to the central station or the Rijks museum, Van Gogh etcetera. The busstop is a 7 minute walk along a park with many playgrounds. Schellingwoude is a former fishing village in the Northern part of Amsterdam. The monumental polder Dike is situated between meadows, park and the IJ river, with The City Center of Amsterdam just at the other side of the water. Guest access The picknick tables in the meadow on lower dike level and beautiful, peaceful surroundings are yours to explore and enjoy.
