In the wake of what the owners of Palazzo Bichelli, his neighbors, had done, he himself commissioned the painter Mariano Piervittori to fresco the rooms of his palace. The work was not completed because, following the untimely death of his two sons (also scholars), he lost interest in the decoration of his residence. Upon his death, he donated his rich book and archive collection to the city of Montefalco.
