We are located in the hills of central VT, close to good hiking, skiing and swimming. Disconnect to reconnect! Our homestead is based on permaculture landscape design. Relax by the living pool, unwind in the traditional sauna, or kick back in an Adirondack chair looking out at the hills of VT. We have an ideal environment for digital detox. This is one of two listings at our place. We can accommodate groups of six by booking: Lower Yurt Stay on VT and Tiny house on VT homestead The space We will walk you down to your yurt and give you a small tour of our farm. The yurt is located just past a newly planted plum orchard, lines of raspberries and strawberries on the upper part of our farm. It is a cozy 14 ft custom made yurt. It has a four season insulation kit and full size wood stove to heat the space in the winter. There is a newly installed propane back up that runs on a thermostat. It does a good job keeping the yurt warm in the colder months however bringing your own firewood for the woodstove is the best to stay toasty warm in the winter. Our yurts are starting to show their age, but still keep their original charm. There is a double bed with a memory foam topper. We provide complementary tea and coffee and drinking water. There is a double burner propane cook top to prepare food and a cooler to keep beverages chilled. An outhouse is located behind the yurt and there is cold running water spigot at the yurt for three seasons. The yurt is lit with re-chargable solar LED lights, however there is not plug in electricity. Guest have been charging devices up at our house in a community space where there is also a refrigerator for guest to use as well. WINTER ACCESS: From December to Mid April we generally have quite a bit of snow. Guest will arrive to a warm yurt. Guest who are booking a winter adventure in our yurts will want to check on the trail conditions. Boot packing into the yurt is possible, and some times micro spikes may be helpful in a handful of situations. It all depends on what kind of snow year we are having. Guest access We would like to give our guests a taste of living in alternative housing situations. You are welcome to swim in the clothing optional living pool anytime. It is a shared space with family, and the other yurt and tiny house. If you choose to go night swimming please do so quietly. There is a three season outdoor shower located near the living pool and sauna for guest clean up and it provides a liberating experience. Guests can schedule sauna appointments upon arrival. The sauna schedule is on a white board located in the community space off our house. We will provide you with a refreshing chilled herbal drink for fluid replacement and give you a small tutorial on traditional sauna (as we have many North American misconceptions). The cowboy is available anytime in the summer, and by request in the winter on a bring your own firewood basis. You are also welcome to forage through the forest for dry firewood for the tub and fire pit located at your yurt. Other things to note -Our property is very private and very safe. A naturist lifestyle is a very beautiful freedom we have here. Going clothes free in and around the living pool and in the sauna is the norm for our family and we invite our guests to experience the same freedom. We work to ensure that everyone is comfortable and that we foster a free body culture for those who seek it. -Know that you are booking on a very rural property. We share the land with other critters, raccoons, field mice ect..... please keep your food inside and safe - You are also booking a stay on a farm- meaning we have cows, sometimes mud, and electric fences to keep them in. If those things stress you out, we might not be the listing for you! - As of October 2015 Airbnb will be collecting the %9 Vermont Rooms and Meals tax from guest.
